I don't even understand why Guards are doctrinal. I think they should be more in line with Panzergrenadiers with a choice of upgrades and make Penals a doctrinal unit.
I'm not sure why those hotkeys are listed as requiring the use of the Alt key but the reason your screen is rotating is because that is Alts in-game function: camera rotation.
You can reset it with a single or double tap of backspace... anyway, don't bother with alt. Just hit "." and "/" and set your mouse hotkeys to those. It should work fine that way.
Cynthia posted a video with the recording of some tanks sound:
We can see on 0:25 a M24 Chaffee being recorded
They need to add it instead of the Stuart. As I said on another thread also it was supposed to replace the Stuart in 1944.
Back to topic, the Stuart it's made of thin paper and it's way too expensive on Fuel. By the time it arrives there is too much AT that just kill it almost instantly, Stun shot targets infantry and crit ability doesn't work at all because by the time it is about to shoot it has been killed already by Schrecks blob.
I like to use it versus Osther though.
Oh crap I missed that they record the Chaffe!!! Fingers crossed for it in AA and toes crossed for the M18 Hellcat to make its way to COH2.
This is just stupid, we nearly lost a game because the enemy P47 crashed into our King tiger and destroyed it. It would be bad enough if this would just happen once in a lifetime but a little bit later another P47 crashed into a King Tiger and left it seriously damaged behind. Lucky for us we could get it back into our base,if we had lost it because of that, we would have certainly lost the game because of a stupid rng mechanic.
The damage from the P47 is bad enough alone but with this random crashing it can change a game. So i think that the damage shoudl either be completely removed or lowered so far that it can just kill infantry
Didn't watch but I must point out and laugh at "our first King Tiger got killed and our 2ND KING TIGER struggled." Poor OKW
I do agree that crashing overflights are WAY too strong and feel magnetized to units and vehicles.
I feel like the relationship between AA and flights could gain some depth. If overflights had 3 levels of veterancy that filled up with each callin where each level gave them a bit more health, armor, flight time or a mix of all three. Then AA units can get more veterancy when they shoot down vetted planes. I figure pintel mounted mg's would have to get nerfed against planes a bit though.
Of course this should be an option and it's kind of ridiculous that this thread has to exist. I think Guards shouldn't even be able to drop their weapons, or any unit honestly.
The Soviet faction itself isn't limited in it's capabilities for the most part, unlike the USF faction, thankfully it's quite simple to do well early mid and late game, but usually that requires either A. Going for cheese(Which every faction does anyway in some way....) or B. Using a strategy that involves strong infantry/snipers into call-ins.
I feel the problem with the Soviet faction is the fact that half of what the faction has to offer is workable, but the other half isn't. For example: going Irregulars, NKVD, Community Doc, T-34/76s, Su-76s, Su-85s, or something out of the ordinary usually punishes you in most cases by making it harder to win without having perfect unit preservation, micro, and strategic tactics in hand(but most people enjoy the lazier/easier way of doing things, which I don't blame em' for).
So I voted not for a major overhaul of the faction, because that's just stupid honestly..(it'll just complicate things more than solve them in the long run[especially if you look at the things Relic has done in the past with major overhaul patches balance wise....])....but smaller changes on a broader scale with commanders and tier units that are currently viewed as obsolete(they just need some love..), thus allowing for a broader variety of more enjoyable gameplay.
1v1 Ostheer is tough for me. I feel like I am on the back foot all of the time and stretched thin. In team games when I don't have to worry about getting flanked I'm pretty good with them though.
Team games I find US the hardest. You have to micro like crazy just to get mediocre results. Even on games where I really do well my damage done compared to opponents is not near as high as I can get it with Soviets.
Every faction has their thing which can be used to good effect in team games by just about everyone. Sov=snipers and maxims, b4, ISU, etc. Ost=combined arms of doom, Tigers OKW=Sweet heavy tanks, obers. US=???
In team games USF gets the fantastic M8A1 Scott, the ultra-powerful (yet unreliable) Jackson and the brutal P47 strafe.
