OK, I understand my playercard is Soviet biased but my ladder ranking is double that as Ostheer... Panzergrenadiers are a great unit that only need a *minor* buff...
Panther is also a wonderful unit that is performing well but is unattainable in any evenly matched 1v1 game since Ostheer tier four is prohibitively expensive.
I think the M3 could use less armour or the MG 42 could use more penetration. In CoH1 if you tried to drive a jeep through an MG 42, it would get wrecked and you're down a unit. At least if the MG could wreck bad M3 play, it'd be more worth actually getting them anymore. You'd still be able to counter them with snipers (with M3 scouting) or flanking, since they're still highly immobile.
Dear God no! Equip any or all of the +10% exp, 10% faster reload or 3% armor penetration bulletins for the MG42 if you are facing a lot of M3 spam. If you see more than one M3 make a second MG42 (not a 221, Guards will own it) and you will melt your opponent's M3's in seconds with Incendiary Rounds (which are also brutal against suppressed infantry.)
Once I get the tier two building down I will weigh my options between the first three units, Panzergrenadiers, 221 or half-track based on what's on the field and will sometimes make another tier one unit or call in some Assault Grens if there isn't an immediate need for a tier two unit.
The only time going straight to Pak makes sense is when the opponent is M3 spamming and you are behind.
I also usually make a pak before I call in a Stug III E since the Stug will bait aggressive play from T34s
Ah dang I hit Print Screen but it didn't work. I just played a game where my Ambush Camouflage upgraded Grenadiers re-crewed a mortar and the mortar received camo as well. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but it's pretty cool and would be nasty on a Pak-40 that isn't vet 3 yet.
Enough conscript squads will wipe any german infantry off the map (that's pro strategy, conspam). it doesn't help that german infantry are easy to kill.
ostheer needs a non negotiable armor buff currently, they're only 4 guys FFS! if a soviet player loses it's a learn 2 play issue, if a german does it's balance! #facts

I have been calling Panzergrenadiers in every game, and this isn't my best performance with them per-se but they are straight beast mode.
Against maxims you say? Try using stock HT as a unit transporter, if you put assgrens or pgrens inside you just got a new maxim for the wehrmacht And sometimes you just need to make a maxim retreat from a good spot, such a maxim is usually alone one, use that mg on the HT, its enough if you're shooting from behind, you don't even need any infantry.
I can agree with this. Loading two infantry units in and flanking and dropping them off behind enemy lines can be a game changer. The Halftrack also has the woefully underused doctrinal Reiegel anti-tank mines and the always good Panzer Tactician.
