i dont think vetted ram is a goods thing, you will be forced to ram your vetted tank which will then probably die.
I much prefer T34's getting a speed boost vet ability like the m3
That's the whole point: Ram becomes what it should be, a gamble. You won't use Ram against an Ostwind or a Stug. You'll use it against that Tiger or Panther, so that, even if you lose that vet tank, its sacrifice will allow you to still gain the advantage.
Think of it like Chess: You are sacrifing a Knight for a Queen. |
They actually buffed Soviet Armor. Notice the T-34 has some nerfs, but an increase in rear armor, and a slight decrease in manpower cost. This is could be good.
the new Vet model is better, but I am NOT fond of the upkeep model just yet. I think this time around, the upkeep is barely felt a lot, but it is certainly an improvement. I think, perhaps increasing the upkeep to 1.75 or maybe even as far as 2, could do the trick (remember, there's no dynamic population anymore).
Opel nerf is good.
I am hesitant about the stuns form Brummbar, Tiger and IS-2, while they do add that extra punch, I feel like 20% could be a bit too much (Brummbar is 33%) |
Its basically what I proposed in the T-34 thread. Remove the vet capping for T-34, give the Ram as a vet ability.
The problem with that suggestion is still the fact that it is very hard to keep a T-34 alive long enough for panthers and other heavy armor to arrive, so maybe a slight increase in armor is needed. |
Rifle grenades are not very useful against crews, unless they are hurt. The damage dealt seems to be inconsistent: at times, itll decimate a squad, at other times, it'll just scratch them.
Thats why, if and when I use them, I make sure I'm in a big engagement (lots of units for him to watch out for), and the target has to be down to 3/4's health. Otherwise it tends to be wasted.
....they do rape, most of the time, hit the dirt troops. |
I've had my disagreements with some things Relic have done since OF, A LOT of CoH patches happened with very little communication from the devs, and I remember ninja changes happened more often than desired.
That said, Relic's communication with the playerbase has improved dramatically over the years. Their community managers have generally been superb, but the fact that Lynx, Duffy, Tribalbob, Eagleheart and others have kept in good communication during CoH2's development cycle, is important to me, as a fan and potential customer.
I hope that communication doesn't suffer to much post-release. I understand the devs have to move on to new projects and everything, but it makes a BIG difference when you keep that hotline open. |
I guess this is a personal suggestion based on opinion, but I think they should switch the Game Overview Window with the Personal Achievement Progress window post game.
Right now, when you finish a game, they show you the progress of your personal profile, before you can see the post game. The average player might spend a little too long looking at their shiny new medals or unlocks, and miss the opportunity to chat with their opponent post game (not that this is necessarily important).
I guess switching it so that you see the game overview first, look at the game results, save your replays, chat with the opposition, GG, and then go ahead and look at your progress without any issues. |
Also, capping is a lot more straightforward. Haven't dug around much, but I think most units cap at the same rate, except for Ostruppen (according to coh-stats, but its otudated anyway).
I don't think capping inside a HT should be restricted. I think it promotes smart play and combined arms. They need to fix the clown car (as in, not make it spammable), but other than that I think promoting unit mixes is good.

The Maxim is VERY powerful. People say it sucks because, in most scenarios, you want an MG for area suppression, and the MG42 is king in that department.
If you use the Maxim similar to the .30 cal: that is, aggressively, to flank opponents, you can deal a lot of damage.
The big problem is the Eastern Front is being fought with BB guns. If the small arms fire gets improved, then crews will actually die. Its amazing how much resilience crews have: german and soviet alike. |
It's a welcome change.
In vCoH, you'd have to wrestle the points from them in a very linear manner. With this new system, you can actually, REALLY stall the enemy player by occupying the circle to delay their capping. It makes for some interesting micro options.
My ONLY concern is that currently, if you put a unit inside a building that touches the capping circle, it will cap while inside the building, which, given the buildings give relative immortality, is sort of skewed. It still makes for interesting strategies.

In 2v2, panthers do become a force to be reckoned with. In my experience, the Soviet needs to really think creatively to deal with dual panthers.
I usually tell my teammate to simply rush for a panther in general, while I slowly tech up to dual stugs as AT support for my infantry wave. It becomes a headache for the enemy to defeat that combination (let alone 2 panthers with stug support). |
