Not quite as good as a recon + bomb, but there's still storm doctrine- tactical movement [sprint] with pioneers [long line of sight], then stuka? Not practical for the soviet player to cover every single angle of approach, especially for an out-of-base howitzer. That being said, it's the only thing storm doctrine seems good for, and the soviet howitzer doctrines are definitely better. None of the light tanks necessarily die to two shots of any regular anti tank weapon (i.e. Pak 40, Zis, Raketenwerfer). These do 160 damage per shot, and the Stuart and Luchs have 400. There is no situation whatsoever where they can get two shotted by these, save Mark Target. Several patches ago you could do it with AT gun + For Mother Russia, but now team weapons don't get a damage boost on activation of ability so that isn't even possible now. T70 can get two shotted, since it has 320HP, but it also has a self repair ability that works on the move. In other words, you charge in with your light tank blindly, which you shouldn't do in the first place, take a hit, hit the self repair button in the 3 seconds before the next shot, and you will survive the next hit, absolutely guaranteed. Thread: Su85 vs new SU7618 Jun 2015, 08:51 AM At vet 3- SU76 has damage of 140 and reload of 2.61 seconds, or 53.6 DPS Su85 has damage of 160 and reload of 2.49 seconds or 64.2 DPS The difference isn't staggering, the SU76 will vet faster, has barrage, is cheaper, and in due time will possess another very large economic and timing advantage over the SU85 . SU85 has health, DPS, and can self-spot (both vehicles are armored such that they are proof against small arms and autocannons, but cannot deflect any significant vehicle cannon, so the SU85 doesn't have a real advantage there).
