Thread: Ostheer mid-late game common goals?6 Sep 2015, 09:04 AM OK, so if you feel heavy tanks are on the way you either tech onward to a Panther and/or buy paks yeah? I don't really have any replays worth showing I was more interested in general thoughts on what is conventional ideas. Teller mines are really good I agree, you can really get people on Semois with them. I've won a few games against brits already by getting their bren or AC with them. Also targeting the Pz4 seems good unless you're being pressured by heavy tanks - it's really not good enough against those. How does the stug's gun compare to the Pz4? I'm used to it being a bit more AT in COH1 than the pz4 which is more of a generalist tank. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: How to counter UKF Bofors?5 Sep 2015, 11:05 AM I just played a guy who used it to lockdown the center on one of the new 1v1 maps. It slaughtered a few squads before I could react. I then left it alone and took the flanks, bombed it a bit with a mortar to little effect (brace). I eventually got it with an attack from a Pz4 and stug so that seems to sort of work. The rounds bounce on the stug armor a lot anyway. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: Afraid to start ranked cant beat expert bot5 Sep 2015, 08:40 AM What does it really matter if you lose some games? You'll learn a lot quicker this way playing against actual people. Also the matcher will eventually put you up against people who are equally bad - so you will get good games out of it. Don't be afraid of losing, it makes you better in the long run. Thread: Ostheer mid-late game common goals?4 Sep 2015, 13:13 PM Hello I'm just getting back into the game after a few years out. I've had some success with 3-4 grens then MG or sniper, or both. Then I usually go for a pak and/or an assault gren with a shrek depending on what the opponent is doing. The main focus is to not get run off the field by a light vehicle. Provided I don't screw up I can usually hold OK with this army. But what should my next goal be? I've tried the strat of getting Stug-E and holding on for Tiger, but that seems a bit slow to me although it works if your enemy is playing infantry heavy. I've read people not recommending heavy tanks in 1v1 but I've also been beaten by things like soviets with IS-2 and/or T34-85s and for this you seem to need something like a Panther or a Tiger. What does a good mid to late game ostheer build look like? In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: Getting back into COH2, info?29 Aug 2015, 07:07 AM Hello I played COH1 a ton, and some COH2 on first release, then quit. I bought the US forces when they came out but never really got into it again. I'm now looking at the game again with the brits coming up. Could anyone tell me anything about the current meta for 1v1 or maybe point me towards any articles or replays I can study? I used to play the germans (ostheer) mainly, 1v1 preferred but I'm trying to get a general idea about where the game is nowadays. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: suggestion: paradropped at-guns27 Oct 2013, 11:23 AM There were airlifts performed by the Luftwaffe(Demyansk, Stalingrad) If they actually dropped AT guns by parachute I'm not sure about. In any case you could just have it as a call-in like the new light AT gun that the Soviets get, that is if it's needed in the current state of the game... In: Lobby

It's not like this is a job or something that will make you money. If you enjoy playing it it's worth it, if not there are plenty of other pastimes to get into, electronic or not. In: Lobby

Thread: Dealing with Early T-706 Oct 2013, 19:23 PM PAK and a shrek squad, and in general have a grenadier based army (so you have fausts available easily). But it can be really tough if the opponent micros well. I tend to simply give up ground and try to hold the fuel until I get my own tanks. And hide your troops behind shotblockers, don't let him sit at range and snipe your guys, make him move in close so you can get a PAK/shrek shot off and even better a faust. In: Ostheer Strategies
