Stuka Dive Bomb is diabolical in team games where it can be used to absolutely control the VP situation and on multiple occasions (both for and against me) it's been used very effectively to do that. I actually think it's ability to knock the VP out is cheesy as hell. If it lost that ability, I think dropping it to the same muni cost as time-on-target would be fine.
It has no flare warning for 'certain' spotting it's used region, but it also is only one explosion instead of multiple shells so eh.
I appreciate your use of scare-quotes, ElChino, because it's silly to call teammates working together abuse.
The most recent visible example is probably price/prodi using vickers-armed penals in the 2v2 tournament. I've done this a few times with a friend, specifically to use 'for mother russia', but I think it's ridiculous to think that the game will get imbalanced because people are working together and picking commanders that synergize for one specific function.
Nevermind how uncommon it is since most people play random and barely bother coordinating where mines are let alone if they should pick specific commanders of specific armies to then dedicate munitions from one player to the other.
As a predominantly team game player, things like shrek blobs (of pgrens) are still common. I would not want to see a cheaper and more readily available version of them.
I wouldn't mind a tank-hunters tactics style upgrade to pfusiliers (with AT rifles), but at that point I'd just make it so you get tank hunter pfusiliers instead of normal ones that you can upgrade one way or the other.
I play OKW 10x more than I play wehr, but I wouldn't want that squad for how cheesy it can make things. I almost think it would be better to make an upgraded kit for sturmpioneers instead that 1) removes their ability to repair and get the hzard removal package (but they can still put mines and remove ones already identified) and gives them a 2nd shrek.
I think it's a bad move but hard to say without really testing it out. Thing is that getting organized 3v3s/4v4s of a test mod is hard to do, especially recurring ones to actually test things out properly.
I wonder if some show/exhibition games could be organized that forces players to use the new commanders?
I can mess around with a friend or play against AI (well, not really, since AI is busted in the mod) but it's not quite the same as a full-scale game.
I like the general idea of the weapons being semi-random, but unless you can identify what the weapon is before you click on it (so what you get from the drop is random, but your choice to equip it isn't random) I can foresee many frustrating moments where a short-ranged squad picks up a PTRS or LMG --- or a long range squad gets a PPSH.
Priest can't reliably insta-gib a static defense in the heat of the moment the way time-on-target can, and if an enemy gets their LEFH vetted (which is quite easy to do), the counter-barrage can really mess up your priest.
I dunno, I think it's a good ability and it's very useful in tactical situations -- especially if your opponent shoves a pak43 behind a building where long range bombardment means you often hit the building in question.
