Thread: Molotovs vs large garrisons23 Dec 2015, 02:06 AM I believe that against building it works like any other grenade. A full health MG squad inside a building won't die with a single molotov, i am not sure if stacking molotovs will work in your favour though. The idea would be for you to chuck the molotov then keep shooting at the guy so that the combined HP drain will result in him fleeing or his squad dying. Most likely he'll flee. Against buildings, just make sure your molotov center is inside the garrisoned building. In: Red Army Strategies

Three Maxims are so good with decent micro. No need to worry about rifle nade wipes either... it's nice. Against OKW I have no issue if I go 3 Maxims. Usually two cons. Molotovs work fine in urban settings. Get a third conscript if you need to get shit out of buildings quicker, and/or a mortar. You don't really need shock troops or guards although shock troop smoke nade really helps out a lot. If you don't like using shocks because it's boring... I can understand that feeling. I know going T-2 works, was wondering if T-1 building (for penals) was a waste or not like usual. It's a shame that so many elements of USSR tech tree are pretty sucky (t-34/76 i'm looking at you). But yeah. Maxims and Dishkas with shocks or guards for support seem to be the bees knees against ubermensch blob. In: Red Army Strategies

The satchel doesn't damage buildings which I think is a bug. They seem to have less survivability than conscripts. Not so sure how well they scale into late game compared to conscripts. The only thing they seem to excel at it having semiauto rifles so a slight dps increase then conscripts. Over all its gotten really hard to justify buying penals or even going t1. Did try going T1 a couple of times, made one of my games harder then it needed to be and the other a horrible defeat. With that in mind (about penals), i guess its not worth it. Thread: Calliopes are OP 8 Dec 2015, 21:42 PM Are you serious? Those things come in later then any other rocket arty and have nonexistent armour value. Maybe resource wise or pop cap wise it might need fine tuning, but this unit isn't particularly better then any other rocket arty, in fact it still pales in comparison to the doom machine that is the Stuka zu fuss. Thread: UKF on Life Support8 Dec 2015, 21:33 PM Having heard relic's justification for 1v1 centered balance, i can't help but feel this game is gonna head to the same place has dawn fo war franchise if they don't reconsider a few things. Dawn of War was popular because of the huge team battles and with Relic's change of focus to 1v1 competitive, it became a very dull, monotone game and basically dead. If they can't make one metric to balance all modes then Relic should try to have different balance fixes for the different modes, and this would once and for all kill the stupid arguments coming from players who can't see past their navel. Thread: Tips for 2v2 as Brits vs. OKW?8 Dec 2015, 19:43 PM I echo the others, avoid AEC. no bang for the buck. After the initial shock, its useless. It was the first thing i tried this patch when i was confronted with similar problems, failed amazingly. Logic would dictate Vickers, but depends too much on the map, can be quite easy to flank...or in some cases the ubermensch blob is just able to actually frontally assault you and then flame nade you to death. USF and USSR are better off in terms of counters, UKF is by far my fav franchise faction,but i would still recommend you avoid it until there are some fixes out. In: Strategy Desk

I really love the condescending snobbery of 1v1 players on any videogame. Despite the fact that organized team sports and games are by far the most popular. I know popularity is not an argument, but saying that there is no skill involved in team games? Sod off. Having played 1v1 almost to exclusion of other modes in COH1 and got sick to my stomach of it, i can say 1v1 has far less depth and variety then team modes. 1v1 there is no consideration of broader team strategy, synergy or multitasking like 1v1 does. Allot of the stuff that flies in 1v1 doesn't work in team games vice-versa. Team games are my bread and butter in COH2, unbalanced as all hell, but still much more rewarding and fun. In: Strategy Desk
