The game design balance methodologies have clearly moved onwards towards a more agile and reactive approach which has had several major successes as undoubtedly demonstrated by the current mod team. Hanging on words from patch notes and blog posts from years ago is antique schematics as endless points tried in the past have been made void with recent and ongoing changes. In: COH2 Balance

For example, if we say in a bigger fight usually 10-15 infantry models die (4-5 Gren/Pio squads lose 3 models each plus maybe some support unit models) then the reinforcement cost would be a bit more than 300 MP. If the ability would give a 50% cost reduction (just an example) it would save ~150 MP which would suggest a price of about 35-50 MUN. Make the ability last for a minute or so, that's enough to limit it to usually one fight only per squad. Adjust the CD accordingly, so that it cannot be spammed. Advantages: You can activate it when you need it and don't need to remember to click the button when you get overrun. Unit preservation is still promoted, you don't get squads that you might not need. It helps you from the mid game onwards to save some MP and could help bleed heavy factions like OST to reduce that. There are side effects from this (for example it would not work that well with Osttruppen or Conscript builds) and a lot of other stuff, but all in all it could be a nice idea. As of now, the ability is not used anyways, so unless it goes super OP, there's nothing to lose. that would be a fantastic rework of the ability it gives a lot of choice and impact on the situation. I'd surely play that commander again with a change like that. In: Lobby
Thread: COH2 winter balance mod - discussion31 Jan 2020, 12:47 PM To discuss the point mentioned earlier and above me.. someone did the maths once, taking into account damage and armor values and other minor stats, including vet. The legends were quantified as true, axis generally got better pen/damage/armor/dps(etc) ratio even just minor. This was a >year ago, so things might be lightly different now. I can't find that thread now. either way, that just an attempt to derail from giving feedback to a random throwaway line about schemantics to detract the discussion - usually initiated by the standard dudes.. Falls were nerfed, but they’re still overperforming. Point is, Jackson needs to be toned down, not deleted. Crying that usf can’t win without the jackson isn’t an argument since nobody is gonna delete it anyway. A lot of people are for the idea to nerf the unit so badly, that it will land on the pile of "units-that-were-once-good-then-nerfed-to-death". Some people even defend the idea that USF will still work even if Jackson is nerfed to uselessness. There is no USF without a good Jackson. Allies are currently just a repository of a handful of crutch units. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: USF Commander Reshuffle6 Nov 2019, 10:24 AM Meanwhile, there are still no long and high ranked USF games out there that are won without Jacksons, and people still argue that USF are OK without Jackson (if they do, they heavily rely on doctorinal solutions and stop gaps) Clearly wheraboos who never played USF USF would totally collapse without Jackson. It'd be back to WFA release when there was an invisible timer slowly ticking down in the background and USF would just auto-lose their match when it reaches zero (too many heavy tanks, and no counter). Thread: The USF Major and Off map4 Nov 2019, 11:09 AM This is a straight up nerf to anything that makes the Major unique. The major barely sees any play already apart from acting as a retreat point and the occasional recon. Perhaps on paper all of this looks powerful, but in any mode, casual or pro -play, they do not do much. What you request here is as good as deleting the unit from the game. It is a clear no from me. What you want is Axis to have all the fun toys, but nerf if Allies have access to it. And your ideas just makes things even more difficult to use. edit: I did not check OP's username when replying.
