I feel that the nonsense stereotype power is very strong here.
Why people defend the bofors so strong with the known fact that is need some kind of nerf.
"Stop blobbing!" -> if a 4 man squad is a blob, then i totally agree with you
"use indirect fire, it's very easy to kill" -> brace
"during brace it cant shoot back" -> yes, but other units do
"but but but schwerer panzer hq does the same" -> give the bofors the same stats and i am happy
What so ever.. problems i encountered were those insta wipes. Even when i just detect one of this things and insta retreat my squads get insta wiped. unlucky retreat path, dead. Inf in a building: very unhealthy.
Medium armor like pz4, forget it. bofors longrange pen is too good in my opinion. "But look at those 40mm shells, realism baby" -> sure my friend,..sure, now take your pills and go to bed
What kinda practical counter we have.
Ost:
-mortars: soft counter (very very soft counter; soft like throwing pillows) but it works if enemy is mindly handycapped and dont use any counters or even better: have a mortar pit nearby
-paks: yeah, those brace thing again
-heavies: "wait what? already late game?"
OKW:
-leIG: *see mortar
-raketenwerfer: i wont try again
-stuka zu fuß: not very effective, but that is actually a good thing
-heavies: yes, or even wait for a jagdtiger
I think my post is totally over the top but just reading most of the post killed my nerves.
Kinda feel that it needs a rebalance including brace with a CD. But like every rebalance i hope they wont nerf it to dead.
But hey, dont forget, the job of the bofors is to LOCK DOWN an area. And yes, when they would nerf it and cant insta kill in max range anymore, people will avoid that area and bofors dont kill anymore that easy, but it doesnt meant it is overnerfed and doesnt do its job.
I am sure you also dont run into a schwerer panzer hq, if you now its location right?! |

Su76 is quite painful for me now. I dont find a good counter.
It feels like a untouchable racing car with the ability to attack tanks pretty effective + a button for free paks.
Very lucky flank attacks with puma did it.
I liked the underrated old STUG III much more, even with lower heath, because of it's gun spash damage. Was kinda long range ai + at support for me. Like the su76 is with its barrage. |
Read the posts again, the 1 heavy limitation is for 3v3 and 4v4s n00b.
Dont give me wrong. But I can hardly believe that a heavy tank limitation is an issue in 3vs3 or 4vs4. A real balance in those 2 mods in a very unsymmetrical balanced game is in my opinion difficult and would destroy balance in the real competitive 1vs1 and 2vs2 mods.
A king tiger + jagt tiger?! The game was already lost before they appeared. But please convince me the opposite and load up a replay of that game. Also watch your language, thank you. |

I see quite many player in this topic who don't even know that smoke cost ammo -> that means they don't even play when -> that means I don't want to discus with them because of one sided opinions. But I can say like many others. Smoke is totally fine, blitz is a bit ridiculous, should be in exchange to smoke a collective doctrinal ability with a higher cost and smoke a non doctrinal ability. That would be my idea.

I wonder what balance out the same cost of this 2 units, because the is2 have statistically overall the edge over the vanilla tiger with more HP, Armor, and firepower. Usally I never play the tiger and always prefer the panther even the weaker AI capability, but I was quite surprised when I saw the statistics.
Are the differences so minimal that it does not matter, but even if, they have the same cost.
Please correct me if I oversee something rather important.
