this thread is not to discuss unit effectiveness, so when you reply with the units stats to a thread about its lack of commander options please read the title again.
Current state of affairs is a lack of variety on tanks that makes for very boring commander selections.
The ice cream shop currently,
Tiger - 5 Ace included
PZIV Command Tank - 5
KV1 - 1
KV2 - 1
IS2 - 2
IS-152 - 2
T34/85 - 3
Flexibility would go along way to not see commanders in rotation against Soviet on a common basis. |

CAS conversion is ok because special snowflake and there should be trucks for industry, nah because fuck that. KV2 a breakthrough tank? It has lockdown as its a support tank, I don't think a moving apartment block is a good breakthrough tank. |

Why would it make sense for war industry to use trucks? Should be a conversion like CAS for manpower.
As for removing lockdown, why? Remove the tanks one unique feature?
I've already started a thread as to how the KV1 and 2 are stuck in two lacklustre commanders. KV's being stuck in one commander a piece is pretty dumb when you can pick your ice cream flavour to go with you're tiger and even elephant.
KV's being more of an option would only serve to remove the boredom of seeing the IS2 or 152 every second game. Variety is good, Relic is standing behind that idea so I have faith in some change.

With the recent (and amazing) work by relic to show they are infact wiling to fiddle with existing tech and commander structure I think it's high time to discuss an old issue. The amount of available commanders for German heavy tanks is in a nice place, you can get your Tiger, or Elephant with a variety of abilities to suit your play.
However the KV-1 and KV-2 are stuck in largely undesirable commanders. Personally I find it odd after 4-5 games its hard not to see the full variety of German tanks and vehicles. Yet it is either the ISU-152 or IS-2 that will be spotted in most matches with Soviets.
With the trade of the SturmTiger for the PzIV the changes to the T34/85 seem quite "Band-aid" in nature. Rather than having the commander have the 0 CP tank, the KV-1 or KV-2 could move into its place on these commanders for a CP value; and make the 85 a fuel upgrade in tier 4. The meta of DROVES of t34/85's and Easy Eights may have been solved, but I doubt it has people picking these commanders any less for the need of a tank with punch.
It's a fairly easy point of discussion that the KV-1 or KV-2 could use some love in the form of either new or moves to other commanders. Not to mention the Sans-OP Partisans and Irregulars. Relic has shown interest in doing the work, so its a better time to discuss. |
THE CAS IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE SOVIET CAS! |

Sorry but calling you a fool for arguing with Cruzz applies to all of us, as he is God. |
The B4 is one unit in a commander that leads you nowhere, comparing it to several broken abilities in a commander is dumb. B4 had counter play, recon and bomb, go find it with support, park units behind buildings. Still a silly unit with precision strike but now useless anyway.
CAS you cannot hide you cannot shoot down in time and cannot prevent, B4 was frustrating but was nowhere near the influence on a game this has. CAS doesn't tie up your MP into buying a gun, which can and was easily reconnoitred and destroyed. The B4 isn't built anymore so it's a dead comparison even with 3 of the scatter bulletins it doesn't hit anything, 9/10 players do seem to use CAS however.
If we're going to play the "Funny how player complained about" game why isn't it funny that axis players whined about the old IL2 strafe and this is fine. |
Comparing a one trick pony gun that hasn't been popular in two patches, with a magician commander that 9/10 wher players use? Excellent comparison. CAS needs to change severely or go. |
Johhny B even argues with the almighty Cruzz. What a fool. CAS is BS. |
