I use a G13 gamepad and forget about all this. Just script and micro everything. switch profiles so when playing with different factions key like smoke and stuff remain the same button. It really quite helpful and lets you forget what a mess all the different bindings are.
For fun I've working on a script atm for microing a selected tank using the little joystick on it (almost makes you feel like your driving it) its really fun to use, for laughs you can make a formation of tanks do synchronized movements like a little dance almost.
