DoW2: Ret is far better and more balanced than coh2, which is funny because there is 6 factions instead of just 4.
Oh and the Commander system works better to.
in general yes, but there are some ober level balance issues and some other harder to solve meta issues involving commanders. the last patch was complete shit though. |
even vanilla rifles have a lot of AI power compared to vet5 volks, baring nades. i hope no one is disputing that rifles are better AI than volks. the problem is that volks are very strong economically and AT wise and have amazing synergy with obers. and they do have that nade, which is a bit difficult to use (nades in general, not the volks nade specifically) but with it they can wipe a full health, vet 3 shock squad so it must be considered. the other important thing about the grenade is it keeps strong AI power on them, even with the the schreck. |
I think we both know, assuming for the moment that I accept your premise that they have anything to apologise for:
1) That's not going to happen
2) The minute it did happen people would demand they actually did something (nerf this, buff that, change the other, give M26, change the maps, etc, etc, etc)
Actions speak louder than words.
It is however somewhat telling that "The Community" apparently believes as a matter of faith:
1) Relic care so little about their game that they have to be blackmailed into fixing game breaking bugs
2) That the only way anyone can possibly have anything positive to say about Relic is because they are being bribed too
So I sincerely doubt at this point that anything is going to get the hard-core of naysayers back on side, because they each have a Platonic ideal of what they want the game to be and the reality will never match up to that.
all i want is acknowledgement of, and steady progress on, the biggest issues (trello) without introducing new ones or not actually fixing the problem.
i have no faith in relic though, having lived through the dow2: ret and now coh2. |
Saying it's easy to dodge mortars is the cry of someone who's not had to deal with 120's bombarding you.
no, i've been on both ends of them. i did forget about them though as i haven't seen them in a while. they're the only infantry artillery that are effective against OKW bases (possibly too effective but that's for a different thread). they are however doctrine locked so there is one barrier there.
captured liegs might works too but that's an unlikely proposition, for a lot of reasons. |
A lot of people play this game for the setting. You know what ruins the setting? Giant dicks painted on everything.
i'm sure soldiers painted obscenities on their tanks and i know some of them had pinup girls, which is obscene to some people. relic's implementation has already done a great job of ruining the setting. |
looks like missing textures as opposed to corrupted ones but it's hard to be sure. |
The forward retreat point is better for you then it is for him if he puts it close to the front, center your mortars and artillery in on it and enjoy the free kills.
OKW has fast tiering because they have reduced income meaning that the units come out around the same time as others do. Shocks are elite units which come out at only 2 CP
The solution is to make Obers less bullshit, not to gate OKW's only AI infantry behind a insane teching system.
baring howitzers and rocket artillery it's very easy to dodge mortars and given the field presence they have it's also easy to force off anything attacking them. tl;dr the forward hq is better for OKW then anyone else. |
callins were a problem before the march patch for soviets but they had pretty much fixed it with the huge patch, iirc. |
it's 0.5 seconds instead of 1.5, unless something got fucked up in a recent patch. |
yeah, i had a spio squad, who was standing still in cover, get attacked by cons around a corner. they all shot, and hit, the same spio model and instantly killed him. i think they were in cover... |
