Thread: Update on the 27th preview23 Apr 2016, 17:40 PM Since release German tanks have been pretty much hit constantly with the nerf stick. I thought we had reached the ultimate low. But Relic never ceases to amaze me. Ostheer used to be about good tanks to compensate for their small squads and general fragility. Now we ended up with Panthers hardly being able to knock out Cromwells. They continue with their famous nerf one thing + buff the counters attitude that failed so hard the last times. This time SU-85 and Firefly get a buff + German heavies get nerfed. If you reduce the rear armor of German heavies please consider giving them something else. More HP or more frontal armor. RIP German lategame. In: COH2 Gameplay

Volksgrenadeers and Volkssturm groups were pretty same german "conscripts". Wehrmacht tried to put there as much as possible experienced soldiers, who were injured or doesn't have good health qualities at all, but in late war casualteis were so big - there weren't enough of them. But in game, Volksgrenadeers performs very good, way better than soviet conscripts. Sometimes even better, than usual grenadeers. Soviet soldiers, from other side, in 1944-45 had really good combat experience after all those years of war. New conscripted soldiers also were trained and trained good - USSR did have time for training soldiers in 1944-45. But not conscripts were real core of Red Army in 1944-45, they had a lot of real good soldiers in action, passed through bunch of campaings and combats The term conscript isn´t a term that necessarily describes the performance of a unit. I had relatives that were conscripted in 1941. One ended up being in a Panzergrenadier division. That´s some kind of crack status. But nonetheless he was still a conscript. In fact almost every soldier back then was conscripted. The term "conscripts" for the Soviet mainline infantry could very well be used for the Grenadiers in Coh2. It´s just a description. In: Lobby

Thread: OKW mg42 call in. 22 Apr 2016, 16:44 PM The only thing I´m a bit worried about is the MG-42 as a call in. As in directly on the field and no built time. I can see this becoming quite annoying and maybe some kind of Maxim spam 2.0. Hope it becomes a passive ability. In: COH2 Gameplay

Volks running around with Schrecks gone, Ostheer lategame anti blob buffed. MG34s non doctrinal to help OKW supress. The game should turn out way better this way. In: COH2 Gameplay

Because the Panther comes at 175f(Ost)/200f (OKW) respectively and has 10 range less than other dedicated AT units. For Ostheer in general it comes in an unattractive tier with very high teching cost. In a vacuum it is a good vehicle. But it is not "Skipping T3" or "Stopping to build further Panzer IVs" - good and thus rather unattractive. I consider the Panzer IV superior, simply because it gets 20 infantry in no time and reaches vet2 easily. At that point the armor is high enough to bounce a shot every now and then and take on tanks on its own. In: COH2 Balance

Panther is Tank destroyer in the game Remove Top Gunner upgrade. Ostheer T3 > Ostheer T4. Panther is pretty underwhelming in most of the games. Nothing double Panzer IVs or StuGs can´t handle. If you want to nerf Ostheer T4 out of the game then and only then your suggestion to nerf the Panther is viable. If the AI gets nerfed as you suggest the Panther should get 60 range though. The Panther becomes actually good at vet2. But getting it there is hard as you hardly kill any infantry (at least with the Ostheer version which is a bit weaker in AI iirc) or can only take single shots and drive off due to the low health pool. A small buff to AI would actually make the Panther way more viable. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: A radical idea to rebalance T-34/7620 Apr 2016, 16:27 PM The two things that restrict the T-34/76 are timing and vet bonuses. The vehicle arrives when Ostheer and OKW usually have fielded a Panzer IV which outclasses the T-34/76. Whether you have a vet0 or a vet3 T-34/76 hardly matters as it receives no defensive bonuses. The T-34/76 will always go down with two salvos of double Paks or double Raketenwerfer, which is meta. In: COH2 Balance
