StephennJF (Joint Operations) vs BartonPL (Soviet Industry)
Nice work on getting a 5:30 T70 and giving me nothing but an abusive game. Typical knee jerk reaction for something I do not deserve.
The fact you believe I do not deserve an apology for the senseless crap you do to me is pathetic. You completely overstepped the line and can't even see it. Go OMGPOP for SNF3 Q3!

Thread: Future Balance Items by Relic24 Nov 2013, 13:49 PM
Huh? Shrecks already aim and fire pretty fast. Shrecks are not the problem here if your talking about T70's. If you make it so a T70 can't get anywhere near them it is the wrong approach in my eyes. The problem lies with the pak40. If Ostheer plan a solid trap with a Panzershreck/Pak40 the T70 has no hope of living. Now since there is no cheap mines and no ATG camo in CoH2 you have to depend on quick timed combined arms hits. Without hold fire on anti-tank guns this is next to impossible when a T70 is led by Conscripts. Always knowing where your opponents pak40 because it fires at infantry first is a major failure of the game. Likewise with that mentality even the shreck/faust method should not really work as often as it does if only more T70's are led by conscripts. I feel I beat Soviet Industry style of play simply by waiting it out and looking for that moment where my opponent does not have proper vision. This means I constantly move my shrecks/pak40 to regions where listenning in the fog of war I expect them to be. They make a mistake eventually, or I use recon run and breakout aggresively. That timed shreck/pak39 assualts were the best method of countering an opponents well microed M8 in CoH1, and likewise a similar adjustment can easily be made for CoH2. Combined arms should always be the key focus and not one unit beats this. Relic just have to give us the tools. In: COH2 Balance |

GJ Stephenn! Go show the beta crew what for! The beta crew that is currently working at should still be commended. It would be good to just see other competitive players give things a test aswell or cease abusing the same garbage. Plus it helps open up whether a different approach, skills or unit compositions are required to adjust accordingly to change. In: Lobby |
Thread: SNF24 Nov 2013, 08:32 AM
Well my original post has had 90% of the content been accidentally deleted by a CoH2.org admin who notified me. I will repeat what I remember stated again and this time be much to the point. This is the current situation with CoH2 for me. There is now an established player base which seems to be trending in decline. An array of reasons are listed for this including core game design, user interface, commanders, global upgrades, bugs, pathing, cover system, unit/tech structures and the list could go on. For me you the general impression I receive from people who leave the game recently is due to commanders and balance. I am not speaking of the linear nature of commanders but simply new DLC commanders which come out and easily exploited for a money price. This is not a commander issue, but one of a balance issue. Now balance is one region where the competitive community of CoH1 and CoH2 can deeply improve the game, but where the hell are they? No where to be seen.
I would love to know how many of the CoH1 competitive community that criticize the game would play a respectable number of games with each influential patch that steers it closer to that vCoH play style. Many from this era are still basing decisions off alpha/beta opinions and have not played the game enough to give it a solid chance later down the timeline. If you all want a competitive game why don't you work at the basis of it all and start by balancing CoH2 rather than being so narrowminded and slowing its progress by doing nothing. CoH2 still retains many features of CoH1 and if it becomes just as balanced as CoH1, would you still not play it? CoH2 competitive community are no better. I heard a rumour (don't know if it is true) that Relic sent out beta test server invites to many players positioned high on the leader boards, yet these people barely contribute. Rather a small group of mid-level players are providing the majority of feedback and playing games directly with Relic devs. These beta invites to my knowledge have been used nothing more than a testing ground for the competitive community to immediately exploit imbalances once they hit the live version. How many of you tried to actively prevent the latest Soviet Industry Tactics or Elite Troops doctrine before it released at the live version? Now I am no CoH1 competitive player nor the best at CoH2, but I think I have done a hell of a lot more for improving the balance of this game than what so many others of this competitive league have. I am so happy that I finally am recognized by Relic and received a beta server invite. At least I'll have a better chance to improve the game, unlike others who decide to sit back and do nothing or say nothing. How many of the people who returned will leave once SNF5 is finished? I would love to see them stay but I doubt they will. I've had an anger against the competitive communities for quite some time now and had to get this off my mind. If it offends anyone, well so be it. I know a lot of stuff is hidden behind closed doors, but I still feel the competitive communities from both CoH1 but mainly CoH2 could do so much more for balance and improving a sector I know we can. I to feel I should have been given access to that closed forum Budwise if it would of made my statements been recognized. Sort of feels like a wasted effort if my voice is constantly lost in unread thread somewhere, but my chins still up. I'll try fix the part of the problem which Relic will actually recognize community input. In: Lobby |

I am sort of frustrated with the amount of criticism I see coming from the old vCoH community yet how many of these people actually actively provide feedback to Relic? I read the forums a lot and since the alpha/beta stages I believe I can say that number would be well less than 10%. I now expect little from this era and once SNF5 is done I expect close to none. Would love to see myself proved wrong though. In: Lobby |
Thread: Tiger vs IS2 Heavy Tank War22 Nov 2013, 15:33 PM
StephennJF (Spearhead) vs OnCe_Ov3R(Armoued Assault) Very fun game that turned into a huge heavy tank war, where 2 Tiger's slug it out with 2 IS-2's. Unusual form of play from both sides and a unique game. gg OnCe_Ov3R wp In: Replays |
Thread: How's the game now?21 Nov 2013, 09:56 AM
Hey Porygon, Yeah if you hated the T70 that much if you come back to the game I highly suggest you only play as Soviets to avoid it. It is beatable but a lot of people abuse it. I manage to beat it a fair bit with good shreck/pak ambushes with building usage but it is punishing if you make one mistake. My Ostheer rank has increased from 250 to 50 in this patch so it ain't all bad. Asides from the 2 recent OP DLC commanders than game is actually really fun to play when you get a non-abusing opponent. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Commander Overlap a serious problem21 Nov 2013, 04:11 AM
+1 I completely agree that providing a form of choice will do nothing but add to the strategic choice of the game, especially for Soviets who seem to need pick earlier for Guards/Shocks and thus get locked in to a specific linear flow. The thing that worries me now with this approach is that it will further increase the overlap of doctrines and make it more difficult to truly determine what your opponent has chosen. None the less though, having more choice within the doctrines out wieghs the negatives of more overlap. If they did change the old doctrines by replacing some abilities with the new DLC abilites I believe it would be perfect to implement the proposed system by WhiteFlash. In: Lobby |
