I think yes they should, but in such a way that it wouldn't be an appealing investment unless there were huge distances like in bigger non-1v1 maps.

Example: Mp for bunker + muni upgrade for command bunker + mp upgrade for forward retreat point. It's not appealing because it is a large investment for a flimsy bunker, but it's still something I could see someone getting on larger maps.

The way I've had the most luck learning is by watching Atr3uh and Propagandacast.

Watching higher level players and hearing the commentary on their micro gives you a good idea of what good micro looks like, and from that you can evaluate your own micro skills like "I should have expected grenades in that engagement and dodged as they were in the air."

Typically you can develop habits that help like glancing at the unit badge things on your UI every 3 seconds- even in the heat of battle- to check if someone needs to be retreated or put into cover or whatever. You also want to make a habit of using hotkeys for absolutely everything. Want to build your T1 Wehr structure? Select pio, V, B, click.

Also the more you try to bring yourself up to the standards of people you watch, the more practice you get and the more you can do things quickly without thinking.

Brits also get trenches, sandbags, and other emplacements to garrison.

Not to mention their vet bonuses are different, extra range in garrisons (which brits can more readily and effectively place) vs. raw damage for muni with incendiary.

Sure I think the Wehr MG is better since it is more versatile, but they are simply different.

Unless I'm crazy and this unit is so useless that no one is using it any more in 1v1; though the last replay I watched, the brit player opened with 2 Vickers iirc.

I'd really like to see some doctrinal units built from faction tech as apposed to all doctrinal units being independent callins.

Ex. Appropriate doctrines allow Tiger to be built built at T0 structure and requires all tech tiers to be built much like KT; same could happen with IS2

Or units that aren't 0CP right now like Shocks could be 0CP again assuming that they require certain tech, like T1 and T2, or just two nonspecific tiers like T2 and T4 or T1 and T2, the latter filling your tech requirement with less fuel.

It would still have powerful doctrinal units coming out later, but things like this would encourage different and more diverse tech paths rather than T0 or T1 + doc units infantry spam into heavy tanks.

Things like 0cp maphack radio could require a 100 manpower upgrade at T0 before activating.

I'm not saying that any of these specific units and abilities necessarily need or warrant the changes I'm talking about, but it would be a cool system either way.

And if the unit doesn't need that kind of adjustment, like a mortar half track or a unit that can cover lack of tech in a certain tier like air-dropped hmgs, then it can just simply be a call in like normal.

The non-doc panther battle group from CoH1 PE comes to mind. I don't see why callins shouldn't be non-doc or doc units shouldn't be in the tech tree. It would be an interesting feature!

Doesn't a command panther also have significantly more sight range than a normal panther? Or am I insane.

If that is the case, then it MIGHT be more worth it than a panther.
