The Pacific was the US/Japan theatre I don't know much historical reasons but logically it must actually hinder an army to do this. With all the tank traps etc on the beach you would need to see where to shoot the mg's etc and also where to advance. Otherwise they would be spraying bullets through smoke and you'd have no idea where it was coming from. I actually think it would give the Axis more of an advantage in that respect My second reason would be that the beach was being shelled by naval ships constantly... They may have appreciated visibility in this scenario considering how many of their own men were on the beach In: The Library

This is actually not true. Relic are actually putting a lot into this game, they want and need it to be E-Sports ready at some point in the future and Relic staff already did confirm it's a big thing on their list.. IN about 3 hours time, I will be streaming with Relic on www.twitch.tv/relicentertainment and I will be bringing this issue of optimization and balance up with Kyle the community manager. So if you tune in to that I'll put any questions about this across but I can assure you that they do want to optimize this as a priority. In: Lobby
Thread: Porting CoH1 Panzer Elite as final Axis faction4 Nov 2015, 11:38 AM I don't think another faction is needed yet. There's still more unit diversity that could be added via commanders to OKW. Things like the Hummel could come into that category. I honestly hope that a new faction isn't even on Relics list of things to do. The game needs to focus on 1. Optimization 2. Balance 3. Making the current commanders useful and each viable Every time a faction has been included in the game, the game has taken a massive step backwards in quality and playability. Whilst I would personally love to see PE reimaged in this game. I'm praying nothing like this happens for a long time In: Lobby
Thread: Centaur4 Nov 2015, 10:54 AM I've had no issues with the centaur as of yet. I bring it out a bit later on in the game now (20minutes~) in order to stop JU-87's raining havok down on me and cover a VP alongside infantry. It's still an incredibly effective Anti-Air unit and worth it's cost in that respect for shutting down Lightning war play. The quick veterancy it gains from destroying planes makes it quite deadly I find. If the opponent isn't using a doctrine with Air Support I haven't found reason to use it yet. Rushing Centaur I can see being a pretty bad idea though now as I don't feel it holds any mid game weight anymore. That whole Aimstrong strategy doesn't feel good now. In: COH2 Balance
