Thread: No Love for the Ostheer Sniper12 Apr 2014, 03:38 AM Haven't seen one lately. Surprise - I've tried building a few and I can't make good use of them. The range nerf hurts more than the armor nerf - you have to have a spotting squad. If I had a gren in a position where I could spot the Maxim without getting suppressed, then I would be flanking it. So what is the Ostheer sniper supposed to be good for? Honestly, it needs to be 80 HP if the LOS nerf is going to stay. This is just a totally useless unit, very hard to make pay off now. Not to mention mortars are more likely to kill it than a Soviet sniper. And Guards. Oh God, Guards with their long-range DPS... No Gren whine please, let's talk about the unit as if they were re-bufing cons. Which they will. In: COH2 Balance

Cons - short distance, probably lose anyway unless being charged by a noob and already in green cover. Penals - short distance, with flamethrower upgrade they can take a Pgren depending on RNG of flame crits. Guards - long distance with upgrade, I like. Irregulars - depends what weapon they get. Shocks - point blank only. Engineers - useless without flamethrower. May win vs a pio if already in green cover. And point blank now literally means your squad is touching the enemy squad. In fact all of them should be right on top, if they are spread out too much the DPS drops. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: New Soviet Commander on the way!!!10 Apr 2014, 01:52 AM It was in open beta, no retreat no surrender is literally what it says. It will be pretty OP in good hands if you can micro squads back to base to reinforce instead of losing them. As soon as you activate it, you can't retreat rest of game. Another way they've found to break the core mechanics of COH. And then...MOAR MANPOWER. MOAR CONSCRIPTS. CONSCRIPTS EVERYWHERE. I hope it's not released, tbh. In: Lobby

Thread: Balance forum with rank prequisite8 Apr 2014, 18:03 PM Milka - I don't play 4v4 much anymore but the few I've done recently has shown it really is significantly different with this patch. I have seen some Soviet teams make super great use of combined commanders, and Soviet Industry is particularly powerful in 4v4. The Pgren nerf also helps, as usually you see those blobs of shrekked pgrens running cover for the Panther spam and now they are a lot more vulnerable. It's unfortunate they can't modify things for the different game modes. I am a fan of 4v4, the good teams are talented in a way that is significantly different from 1v1 or 2v2 players, in that they really have insane coordination, great mutual support, and commander strategies that can be highly effective even in the face of game imbalances. But we have to balance from top-down, it should trickle down, right? In: Site Feedback
