MG42 is fine, incindiary rounds aren't and need to reduce their DPS (melt units, particularly in buildings). The best early vet1 ability now that mortar's precision strike is gone.
Maxim is in a great spot.
American HMG is the one that badly needs to be fixed.
When was the last time anyone saw someone use a Dshk?

the cars used to be good, now they are very lackluster. The car is more or less the make and break of this commander, as the rest of the abilities aren't up to scratch with a good commander.
Use the commander against only OKW lineups - no whermact. The cars are a good start, after a while send them off as they are useless. Get 1 halftrack. Use your arty on their trucks to do massive damage to them. |
Great looking commanders. All of them seem to have cool abilities and the offmaps all seem great.
There's a good reason why you don't talk about alpha as so much experimental stuff is just put in there. I won't even mention OKW alpha - that would be enough for people to boycott the game! Also, what happened to the dudes with stuff?
Churchill croc was always a great tank, but it's going to be ridiculously pricey (in CoH1 it was 800mp!), and panthers will rip through it I reckon. |
for the 3v3 and 4v4 players - kubel forces early retreats which may as well say goodbye to early territory. Particularly huge maps where territory is important e.g. steppes.
OKW are pretty powerful until you get their kubel down or a soviet player gets a scout car out (first 3-4 minutes really). |
volksblobs work wonders for OKW - can easily dodge arty if you're good with it. Pgrens would do the same as well.
The SU76's AT capability is great, so very hard to counter that way. The best way to stop them is to dodge their arty (which is fairly inaccurate at range) and use infantry while they are on cooldown. |
2cp would be a standard, at least for allied players. For some factions, 1cp may be the way (e.g. US where pathfinders can be a good early game choice).
Just think of the point, in your commander selection, where non-selection would be detrimental to your gameplay. Sometimes, your strategy won't even rely on any commander units, so you may just want to pick a lategame faction.

I love them as they are. Instantly effective and can really pack a punch, or be a complete waste of 440 manpower (depending on deployment). Shock units they are until Vet 2, then they're the best camo units.
Obers are more durable and more long range and would be better off staying that way.
Units that spawn in buildings unupgraded make it almost useless unless you use a grenade then retreat (Hint, stormtroopers).
Now only if partisans were decent and allies had more cool shock infantry...

Try 2 penals, then 2 scout cars, flamers etc. It will work okay but never great. Against solely OKW (or a very grenadier-less Whermact) you'll have about 2 minutes of freedom before they really bring out some hard counters (schreck and 222) which make your scout cars useless.
Penals perform better than standard infantry, but it's really difficult to keep their effectiveness as the game goes by as flamethrowers aren't a great upgrade in most maps. T1 without snipers therefore peaks at around the 5 minute mark and then quickly drops off, whereas the a T2 build will stay relevant for most of the game. |
defensive stance just asks for a leig. that would be the perfect counter in your case.
Garrisons are difficult to clear as OKW early game unfortunately. The match up is weird as no team has flamethrowers or really early counters that are super effective against large structures (nades are okay but are pricey). In an OKW US matchup, building control is more important than in any other matchup for this reason. |
