Afrika Korps has vastly outdated equipment by 44 / 45. All the relevant equipment AK used would fit Fallschirm-Panzerkorps better and be more historical to boot (they used Pz III late into the war), unless you insist troops should run around winter Stalingrad wearing shorts and pith helmets.
Panzer III is nevertheless a good addition to the game imo. The Afrika Korps also used Tigers and 88mm Flaks. Their equipment is as outdated as the Soviet faction using T34-76 and SU-85.
Give back Attack Here and Defend Here pings. Being able to quick ping in random automatch rather than type is much quicker than trying to chat and can be understood by foreigners that might not understand English very well.
I also cannot understand why they removed it. The UI gives a lot of space where the icons could be put in.
In my opinion it's simply a 'Relic is too fucking lazy again' issue sadly.
Having no more than 60 tanks produced that were not much better than the T-34/76 which was produced more than 10.000 times is somehow a definition of being bad at tank manufacturing. Yes, the Sturmtiger was produced even less but it at least saw the battle and was designed for a very specific role in battle and no main battle tank like the Panzer IV, Tiger, M4, T-34, etc, which the Chi-nu should have been. The Chi-Nu was designed to defend the Japanese Main Islands which were never invaded.
Japan never faced intensive tank battles that took place in Europe so they don't only have reliable tanks but also no good AT guns (the Type-1 37mm AT gun was only able to destroy a M3 under favorable conditions).
If a Japanese faction had problems against the USF light tanks, how should it fight against the Pershing, Cromwell, IS-2, etc?
On the allied side there are three different distinct faction with USF, Brits, and USSR. Representing all the three big allied players.
But then on the axis there is Germans and... more Germans?
Where's Japan? Where's Italy? I'm honestly pretty disappointed, I kind of thought atleast one of them would be in the game with all the allies there.
Why would they do it like this?
Because the Axis strength in war was about 95% Germany. Italy simply sucked during WWII, losing everywhere all the time. Japan was a naval force with lots of ships and planes - both can't be used/controlled actively in Company of Heroes.
Both Allies of Germany were desperatly inferior to everything that the western Allies sent to war.
This was the Japanese main tank, the "Type 95 Ha-Go" which had the strength of no more than a Panzer II:
CoH is a game about infantry and tank micro.
Japan: Sucked at tanks
Italy: Sucked at tanks AND at infantry.

I would prefer the Afrika Korps as a third German army.
And I'm sure the majority of the community is also in favor of this idea.

oh well, then waiting for USF nukes....they had them, you know....
Bullshit, the US didn't have any nukes ready before Germany surrendered in May 45. Otherwise Mannheim and Ludwigshafen would have been bombed and I wouldn't write this post.
oh well, then waiting for USF getting six Shermans for the same fuel that an OST player gets a Tiger....
Ok if my tiger can then shoot acrossthe whole map (< 2km) and destroy every allied tank with a 80-90% chance on the first shot while the Shermans won't damage the Tiger until they're closer than they are in the actual game (and let's not even talk about Jagdtiger and Elefant).
Realism isn't always good because CoH is an arcade RTS. If you want something else then play MoW.
You over estimate the F2P model. Specially with so many s*** F2P out there that made people very weary of getting sucked into such a scheme again. There aren't that many successful F2P games out there, most have just managed to alienate paying costumers with their extortion schemes.
I wanted to say that I don't like the F2P model at all but Relic does what brings them the most $$$.
At least what they think what brings them money.
