250 HT For Feuersturm

A very simple change that could be a huge buff to the OKW Feuersturm Doctrine.

Replace the Opel Blitz Munitions halftrack with the newly revamped 250 HT.

The 250 HT can provide on-field reinforcement when dug in, serving the same role the Opel Blitz did. Furthermore it's got a gun on it, so it can support the infantry it's reinforcing rather than just being a bad ambulance.

It's also an open-top half track, which gives it amazing synergy with Feuersturm's Assault Packages. Stick MP40 Volksgrenadiers or Flamer Sturmpioneers in it and you've got a shock unit. Stick a Panzershreck Sturmpioneer squad in it and you've got a light AT vehicle.

Thoughts?

Sounds like an interesting idea like I said in your other topic.

Not a fan.

Firesturm already has all the CQC upgrades in the world. Sure, it'll arrive later than a WC, but it'll come with substantially more armour and carrying a sturmpio squad with a flamethrower.

The Opel already does what it needs to and does it well, which is be a halftrack. But a halftrack that also comes with a firepower bonus, to fit the assault theme.

You can't fire out of the opel blitz truck, plus its pretty slow. Pretty easy to take out with small arms fire and a anti-tank nade. The 250 HT seems promising.

That is exactly why I like the Opel Blitz, yes.

Don't lie, you like it where it's at because it's worthless!

Replace stuka zu fuss with the mortar halftruck and add stuka to doctrine. :romeoMug:
Its Vipper idea and the best on this forum.

I thought that too, then J4J pointed out that that'd make T2 even more favourable than it is already.

Not at all. It's an OKW equivalent to the ambulance in terms of front line utility, and it's very useful because of it. Combat buffs rather than heals, but hey, asymmetry. I prefer the heals most of the time but wepaon teams get a lot from the Opel.

Because ambulances are always in the frontlines as opel blitz. Now you say its very useful, very hypocritical of you

I normally bring my ambulance to an aggressive position in an early ganme engagement, yes. I do the same thing with an Opel.

It's vulnerable but very useful. Much like an ambulance. But OKW can drop meds and gets a lot of self healing squads, so you can work around that.

A mortar halftrack in OKW's mechanized would probably be overpowered as hell.

As for the Opel Blitz, it's pretty worthless, and I'd rather see it replaced by the Ostheer Opel Blitz that can lock down sectors, to give OKW another doctrine that can secure some extra resources.

...

I disagree, allies dont rely that much on team weapons... SU have 6 man team crews and USF can chase them with Stuarts and UKF with AEC.

Its a big change but OKM wont become "volksverpowered" IMO

On top of your Sturmpio + 3/4 Volks opening you'd

1. get Puma
2. get two mortar halftracks
3. ???
4. faceroll entire map

Not to mention it would make the ISG completely redundant.

The issue is that if Mechanized gets cheap, easily accessible indirect fire, why would you ever go Battlegroup?

For heal

Thanks to the Sturmpioneer crates, Mechanized doesn't struggle for healing. Battlegroup needs to be able to stand on its own unit roster.

Right now that's a mortar with no retreat, a meme recon truck that's banned in tournaments for being bugged, and a slightly worse anti-infantry shock unit.
