Well know this;
EA's upper management has zero credibility left.
Their recent cost-cutting initiatives somewhat similar to Activision say it all.
The EA CEO are misleading both fans, gaming media, lower tiers developers and investors. Fact.

Not interested in 1999 RTS gameplay after CoH emerged

You should really try OpenRA. It has the old graphics but renewed gameplay and balance. They even added simple but cool indicators to make the game more intuitive. Hotkeys too. And tanks have updated scripts so they can be microed too, they cant reverse tho.

As it is now, its a good mixture of macro and bits of micro since unit lethality is quite fast
