Singleplayer mission scripts working

I'm trying to create a singleplayer mission scenario. The map itself works just fine, but the scripts I made for it don't appear to actually run when the mission is started.:help:

Well, it depends on 2 things mainly.

1. Is the name of the main scar-file correct? It should be the same as your map name. If it is, how are you doing your scripts? Do you have them as modular separate scar files or is it all included in the main scar file?

2. How are you playing your scenario? Have you made it into a scenario pack in the mod maker or are you just exporting it from world-builder? I highly recommend using the mod builder, as exporting directly from world-builder leaves out some files.

1. The map file is entitled "op_0.sgb", the main scar file is entitled "op_0.scar". In addition to that I've got
  • op_0.options
  • op_0_obj_firstObjective.scar
  • op_0_obj_secondObjective.scar
  • op_0_ID.scar
  • op_0_encounters.scar
  • op_0.info
  • op_0.events
  • op_0.prefabdata
  • op_0.scenariomarker

as seperate files in one folder.

2. I'm using the mod builder. I've set my mod up like this:

Sorry for the late reply, could you give me the first few lines of your main SCAR file? I think it might be either that you're not importing the extra files correctly or the way you're building your mod is wrong.

Ah, it might be that you haven't done an on-init function to actually call the scripts.
This is something from one of my scenarios. Put this under the setup-players, and just change the function names to what you have, and it should execute.

Ahhhh there it is. Thats important, that means there's an error in one of your scripts. You can see where in the console. Press control-shift-tab all at the same time, and use page up/down on the numpad to scroll. Look for something along the lines of (Check script syntax!). In that report, it should tell you the line of your code the error is present.

Well, first I will have to ask if you can load the game and just get a frozen screen? If so then I will ask you to use the console and search for the error there from that point we can progress with the problem resolving.

Also if you would be so kind could you drop here your warnings file here right after your bugged game?

The warnings file is located: DRIVE:\...\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2

Yeah, when I launch, the game is frozen. I have to press resume in order for it to start up, but without any of my spawns.

Yeah, when I launch, the game is frozen. I have to press resume in order for it to start up, but without any of my spawns. ...


"file failed to open main" can mean the naming is wrong so I would double check the naming and I would keep the file names in lowercase characters or there is a problem with the encoding of the main SCAR file.

Janne252 mentioned that the files probably aren't in the .sga file, which I've check using the archive viewer and can confirm. However, I am not sure how to add the missing scar files to the .sga. Any ideas?

Yes, all SCAR files need to be in .sga format. What do you mean by missing files? If you mean the other SCAR files you just need to import them in the main SCAR file and it should be all ready to go.

If I view the .sga file in the archive viewer, I can see that my objectives scar file is not included for some reason. I imagine due to "export packages" in world builder overwriting it. Without the objectives scar file in my .sga, I am unable to import it with my main scar file. Not 100% sure how to add my missing scar files to the .sga for the main scar file to import.

I've seen that you can create a scenario pack in Mod Builder and manually add in the files, however, I am running into errors doing it that way as well.

I see the following error with my mod in the warnings file:

Also, when I try to build my mod I get the following error:
