Convienently leaving out how Volks have no defensive structures,
What do you mean by this? They get a free flak base that is regularly used to defend cutoffs or other important territory. And volks can build sandbags for themselves, they are hardly defenseless. You say they struggle with a blob but you get your MG no matter what, US might not even unlock the .50 cal...
Sure both rifles and volks have pros and cons. But volks are clearly more cost effective. Riflemen have to pay much more for their upscaled performance
