Why is this damage so low?

Probably mostly becouse they were in cover while building. Also rifles are not at all that good at long range.

The two models in the back were running around in circles a bit, likely hurt the DPS of the squad a lot.

Yeah i know the great squad spacing change. But as for the 2nd engagement idk

Id say for the second one the two models u didn't kill were behind the truck for the most part, also moving the rifleman up to the fence would have likely been a bit better. Probably got some bad luck on the accuracy department with rifles too.

Alteast its rumored they plan to revert back to the old squad mechanics as I felt with those atleast they werent as buggy.

The pio models you were shooting at were in light cover (even though the cover shield didnt show up; the models you were shooting at were in cover, but the squad as a whole wasnt). Moving the squad that slight bit didnt help with the dps either. Finally, core infantry max range dps just really isnt that high (and riflemen have the lowest "volley"/burst damage of all core squads...).

Throw all of those factors together and maybe a little poor RNG, and the clip isn't all too shocking.

another thing to add is that the unit were shooting at the model not building, so they dont get the penality
