Yes, he's an officer. Much is to be expected from him.
It is beneath him since he is a lieutenant colonel. Let the regulars or even the Panzer-

All in all, I really don't think this is much of an issue.

I remember there was a time when his pistol hit like a gren's rifle at most ranges, except with pistol fire rate.
