Need help:Editing visible weapons for models

So my problem is the following:
I want to make a squad with a weapon, that not attached to it's model, so ingame it wil be invisible in the soldier's hand. I know from vCoh modding that this can be done in a map inside archives/data... . In coh2 there is a data.sga, wich can be opened with the archive wiever, but i can't open the exact file that i want to edit with it. Any suggestions how what to do?

You need to edit the unit's abp files. Eliw00d made a very good tutorial on that:

Thank you! Now i just have to figure where i can find the icons and other image files (for commander etc.).
