Your army assists IS-2 and ISU assists your army.

Both are excellent choices, boils down to your preference and strat(and the map).

IS-2 is the straight forward choice but on open maps the ISU can really pay off. avoid changing the shell types a lot, that's another 11 seconds it's not firing on top of the reload. if there's a lot of armour then leave it on AP, it'll still wipe squads occasionally; otherwise leave it on HE to wreck infantry. the ISU also works very well with a pair of SU-85s as they will spot for it and protect it from attacking tanks.

I Take IS-2 over ISU cause you can get 3 SU-76 around your IS-2 and you have IS-2 as a shield and SU-76 as a spear, but ISU-152 is a spear and you dont have nice shield for it in soviet army

Played alot with both.
is2 is better. ISU is too flankable. ISU commanders are worse than shock rifle in general that in many games aloows to skip t3 and t4.

Im noticing the IS-2 has pretty bad accuracy.

kinda annoying considering it's reload time.

I prefer ISU, especially with tripe 5% armor bulletin and 4% faster rotation :megusta:

Bit most of the time it's not want we prefer, but what we need and what map it is.
Assuming at 1' that you want ISU/IS2 is wrong assumption.

Both are not bad, but dont need forget about axis doc that counter it (i mean isu more) and ISU need more cover, vision. Is-2 more mobile. The most fun that i can understand why ele have TWP with his range and damage ? Go vet 1, kill isu OpieOP.

IS2 suffers from idiotic inaccuracy while the ISU is a real shocker, especially in 1v1 and it is effective as both AT/AI.

Quite risky if you are facing medium spam though.

depends on the map.
for narrow maps with little flanking choices isu is better, like rails.
for wide maps with many flanking choices is2 is better, like moscow.

ISU is not a best option right now because of bad accuracy and constantly hitting ground, also AP rounds have terrible penetration, so...

Hello.
What do you prefer? SU85 or T34?
Basically the two heavys are god tier upgrade of thoses two tanks.
My favoutite taste goes for the IS-2 because when i pay the price for those machines i like them to be everywhere and not just interdiction guns, useless if nobody shows up where i pointed it.
Consider the whole doctrine as well.
Anyway, you can't go wrong with both. Just use them correctly.

Kozo.

It might be rng or placebo, but I have noticed IS2 benefiting from attack-ground rather than actually targeting units.

ISU is a long range wipe machine and you can back it up with several SU-76s to cover the AT.

IS-2 just makes me cry every time it completely misses something while not moving

both have drunk crew and they shoot on the ground !! but is-2 have a turret and can take some shots so ... is-2 seems a better choice.

ISU is too flankable.

I know, right. I try to make it pay off but it rarely does for me. If one does not have near popcap after bringing it out, don't bother at all. Needs constant protection and now it can't even see for itself. That change wtf.

That too goddammit, this thread is incurring anger in me. I rolled up in a compstomp and tried I Think six Concrete shots in a row against a building, standing still, and all missed! And those cost ammo! I was going to record and upload and report it but it was just too much so I didn't. I have one video-capture of it missing 4-5 shots in a row, not killing even a single model.

And the other day a panzerfaust missed! I didn't know that's possible.
