Please consider removing infantry crush

It's frustrating, has no counterplay beside instant retreating (especially in no snare factions or builds), luck determines efficiency to a far greater extent than skill, and overall I think it belongs in cartoony style RTS games such as the C&C series, rather than pseudo-realistic ones such as CoH.

It's the sort of mechanic that (along with demos, Goliaths and Sturmtiger/AVREs) makes for great 'wow' moments when observing games and is horrible for competitive gameplay.

TBH I never liked it. It messes with natural balance, capable of making non AI units like m10 and panther into wiping machines. But because it's been in the game so long, everybody just accepts it for no reason.

Lay down mines, get zooks or shreks or faust, get paks, use other tanks to hunt them, etc. There's plenty of counterplay.

I don't think infantry crush should be removed, but it should only be possible on suppressed and pinned infantry. It's a stupid mechanic otherwise.

I don't have a problem with the mechanic so much as the mechanic seeming pretty convoluted and unintuitive to the many players who understandably have no idea how it works.

Crushing is fine except for with M10 since it's supposed to be a tank destroyer. Maybe Cromwell does it a little too effectively as well.

Nothing more exhilarating than a noob chasing down a T34-76 with his mass of shrek volks, then running them all down with said tank and being called an abuser.

It's glorious, so it's a "no" from me too.

This is only punishing to blobers. If the player is not blobing he won't lose a lot of models, not more than what the tank would kill by simple shooting.
It can also be hard countered: snares and retreat.
And the best of all- another element of environment usability: find a part of the map with walls and push the enemy all the way to it- then... :hansREKT::hansGG:

What Antillies said, you can only get crushed if your opponents tanks can freely run into your infantry if they have something to fear (getting snared, zooked, etc.) then you won't get crushed.

It also helps to realize when you are in danger of getting crushed and avoiding those situations (such as when your infantry in bunched against your bas building and a tank YOLOs into it)

Should be removed in base. Sick of Early tank crushing on retreating units. Zooks don't even come close to stopping it and would rather see a light At in bases to prevent this. Forward retreat points are fair game
