Ostwind is lucky to kill 2 models after 2 bursts. Its good vs squads that run through white phosphorus I guess.

Increase rate of fire by 25% to be more consistent.

You mean the unit that didnt have its mobility or price changed, yet used to get rushed and ended games immediately? And if mobility is survivability, it's weird how everybody complains about how unkillable KT and all the other supers are.

So to answer your question: it makes the "useless" centaur still better than the ostwind.

You might want to update your game to the latest patch, the one when centaur isn't like that and no one rushes it.

Ignoring all points only to cherrypick the one "weak" argument...

First off, centaur survivability never changed. Since it was OP before, its survivability was a non-issue quite obviously. After the nerf it's still better than the ostwind. Yet ostwind is "fine" but centaur "useless". Because survivability. Which was not changed and wasn't an issue earlier. Yep makes sense.

Also, you might want to start reading the posts you're replying to. And the ones they're replying to. See the whole picture for yourself... then i won't have to explain to you why you're wrong all the time ;-)

Dont play OKW... what was the problem and how did it get fixed? if the answer to the second part of the question is not "ostwind was nerfed", then the root of the problem obviously had nothing to do with the ostwind.

Agreed it needs a small performance increase.

I personally think it should also use an accuracy based attack. Instead of AoE/Scatter. Cause right now its damage output seems sort of inconsistent. Also: is it possible for the AoE dmg to 'miss'?

When I see that thing and centaur; the disparity is quite big. Not big enough for 40mp cost difference imo.

So I made a tests.

Centaur and Ostwind vs Volks/Rifles and mid/long and close range.

Centaur vs 1 Volks at mid/long - 15s.
Ostwind vs 1 Rifle at mid/long - 19s.

Centaur vs 3 Volks at mid/long - 69s (tho this should be a bit higher, becasue I had to move Centaur aa bit close because it was shooting the ground :D Ostwind was not shooting the ground from the same place. Dem this shit Ostwind!)
Ostwind vs 3 RF at mid/long - 80s.

Centaur vs 3 Volks at close - 40s.
Ostwind vs 3 RF at close - 46s.

Now, tell me, how Ostwind is UP? Sure, it kills a bit slower than Centaur but it has better survability (mobility).
Or maybe you want to bring it in line with Centaur for those X seconds in exchange for shitty mobility? :snfPeter:

Same environment but vs IS and Grens.

Centaur: 12s/52s/36s
Ostwind: 20s/67s/44s

Of course it's just "more or less" casue it all depends on map, where are you shooting, cover, terrain etc.

there's a saying "the best defensive is a good offense". centaur survivability was not an issue previously because the tank was wiping infantry in seconds. The jackson is an extreme case of where a unit's firepower and mobility excuse its fragility.

It probably needs a buff. Its anti-infantry capabilities are only marginally better than a Panzer IV. For a dedicated anti-infantry vehicle, that's not enough.

Not a huge buff mind you.

Yes, you usually place your team weapons in the open without cover in front of your opponent tanks.

Dude you flip-flop more than politicians :-)

Just experiment with the ostwind in cheatmod... or try building it in a automatch game. It's not a very good unit. Not at its intended role (AI) nor at anything else apart from maybe AA (and i'd argue that even here the centaur is far superior)

killing squad 8-4 seconds slower than centuar = shitty offense? that's barely one reload circle for a panther.
