Loitering JU-87 anti-tank stuka too strong?

Just had a game today where my opponent managed to get several of these off. The ability managed to decrew my AT guns and kill full-health tanks on several occasions. It's also a death sentence for the su-85 which can't possibly retreat fast enough. I know it's munitions heavy, but the soviet equivalent is garbage in comparison as it does random damage to infantry and very little damage to tanks.

Uh, let me get the replay. A rather long one but please try to take note of every time a stuka loitering strafe is used.

Try to offer some more helpful or meaningful input next time.

Okay to get serious i have to say that this Stuka At strafe is strong, but the point is that i compair it inmmediat with the P47. After you do this it seems no longer to strong. The solution for me would be to nerf both but not just blame the stuka as OP. :thumb:

I dislike both abilities for their high damage and randomness, but it doesn't change the fact that it needs to be addressed.

Anti-Air and aircraft in general are handled in a rather clunky fashion.

Plane crashes are such a crap shoot that sometimes AA works as much against you as it does help. There's no mechanic that governs anything like having air superiority in a given sector or map. Only blizzards can give any respite to the planes, but blizzards are, well, blizzards.

I think folks are confusing this with a strafe. This is a loitering run that targets everything. Not *just* armor.

The fact that it targets stuff other than tanks is actually a bug; one that can often be quite frustrating when it shoots at passing seagulls and maxim squads instead of IS2's and Jacksons.

We already have a thread, and I'll reiterate, loiter Stuka is too strong for cost.

Comparing it to P47 results in quite obvious over performance of Stuka AT loiter.

P47 is completely unable to wreck armor in single pass even if both planes hit, which is extremely rare occuranece.

P47 doesn't target infantry and team weapons, killing them just as effectively, stuka does.

The stuka have also excellent tracking, it'll get to half HP moving IS-2 in a single pass, show me the same being done by P47.

Stuka does what P47 does, except better, cheaper and it does more of it.

One thing that P47 have for them is the sight range, but that is it.

My mistake, I mistook the other thread's title for a walking stuka OP thread.

But this off map can me countered by anti air vehicles, just like the p-47 strafe. What's the problem?

Its only one plane, when first gets taken out it stops. So 200 ammo wasted when AA hits the field. P47 on the other hand gives free recon for 5mins + has like 6 planes :D Both are fine in current state imo tho.
