ISG can be pretty effective vs. 120mm if you keep it out of range - the 120mm will get suppressed and stay suppressed if you focus the ISG on it.

Don't expect the ISG to have loads of kills, its primary function is to mess with units at range, not wipe squads like the 120mm.

@JohnnyB if he talks about squad wiping, then there isn't really a reason not to compare it. Once can have the feeling that nothing on axis side squad wipes often, which is untrue.

But, sometimes i get really frustrated to get my squads pinned from 3 game screens... ISG is good thing to have.

Seems like Relic is into Soviet nerf train in couple of months, 120MM will be nerfed to a regular mortar with 400 price tag and T-34/85 call ins. I might as well add Guards mortar to my growing list of noncompetitive commanders. We already made ISU commander almost extinct in meta game, now IS2 turn!

He means switching between AP and HE rounds are a HUGE nerf and requires brain to use. :p

Some games have "Infantry formation options". I wish we had that in CoH, so you can simply order the squad to change their formation (V, line, Crystal, etc.). Hell, even simple infantry spacing modes can be great (And as far as I know, it's easy to implement and Cruzz did that). Just a simple button to let you change the spacing a bit (tight or spread).




Okay, I must have posted this at least a dozen times. There's no way to change formation spacing or the formation itself without spawning in a whole new squad. It can't be done; there is NO modifier for it. I've been elbow-deep in RGDs for years and I've yet to discover this mythical holy grail; there is no magic way to do it.

The fix for this is to fix the spacing and cover spacing in the first place; the maximum squad formation 'size' is 25 m; so theoretically a 5-man squad can have 5 m spacing. Even larger squads can do it, you'd just have multiple rows of infantry instead of a nice skirmish line.

Meta for Soviet is def Guards with T-34/85 and IS2s, very rarely I see Guards with ISU these days.

Not in 2v2s and above!

ISU-152 with T2 (2 Zis) + 1 vetted T70 (recon) is a perfect combination in open maps.

Good luck countering without Ele or Jt.

Stuka > 120, Mortar HF Incendiary rounds > 120, LMG blob flanking > 120, Popping jaegers/falls from buildings behind 120 > 120. Stolen 120 > 120, Blob flank > 120, 10 muni grenades > 120. Only time I have a hard time vs 120 is when I go Ostheer without mortar hf and am constantly failing to flank the 120 due to Soviet mines/blob. :foreveralone:

Well I can't see how your profile is any better than what you think my general profile is. What you called "attacks" are replies to biased people and they are more often adressed to the most biased. Probably because of this you feel verry "attacked" most of the time, because you are a verry biased allied fan. Nothing personal, I assure you. But whatever, enough with this off-topic pudding.

I lol'd. You do realize Stuka dive bomber can be easily avoided via the retreat button. CAS incendiary air strike? Don't you mean the Luftwaffles DLC Doc? :foreveralone: Panzerwerfer is shit unless at super close range vs 120. :foreveralone: 2 unvetted ostheer mortars can be easily out-ranged by the 120, even at vet 2 they will still be unable to reach it at it's max range. The point is the 120 can be countered by certain units that require a certain strategy, forcing your opponent to go that strat, and that the 120 itself is fine as is atm imo.
