My point is that the Jackson requires the same number of penetrations as an SU-85 to kill a medium tank now while having almost half the RoF of an SU-85. This means the Jackson is going to be a less of a hard counter to Ost T3 and medium tanks in general.

I will not defend the Jackson until I play the game. But Axis people trembling in fear need to realize Jackson shots only deal 25% more damage than a t34/76. But somehow people always conveniently forget it also reloads around 25% slower.

Yeah most of the time.With 200 dmg u need 4 shots to kill panther.2 jacksons with new pen will have 60-70% chance of doing that

StuGs are the unlikely winners of this Jackson buff. They will now die in 3 M36 hits instead of 2. So they can handle 2 Jackson reload cycles instead of one.
However, reliable penetrations of expensive Axis tanks from the front will be a huge deal because M36 will vet up faster.
Dunno if OP for 1v1s, but this change probably singlehandedly saved allied larger team games.

When Jacksons had 240DMG they could also 4 shot a Panther - with a 50% chance at max range.
Now they can 4 shot a Panther with a chance of 62,5% per hit at max range.
That's not a big difference TBH. RNG can still troll you and cause 4 bounces in a row.

In order for 2 Jackson to twoshot a Panther all four shots need to penetrate. Chance for that is (0.645 ^ 4) which is around 0.13
So your "most of the time" boils down to 13% of the time or one in eight encounters.
