my teammate and i try to avoid or at best stall axis blobs until ready.

i think best anti blob for USF is m8 scott + 50cal at the back and for sov, good propaganda is also nice or incendiary combined with major's fake arty. or two or three maxims with a spotter and you have to keep changing targets.

only big problem with a blob for me is sturm officer. encourages blobbing and once it gets going, you better extinguish it fast or it'll grow into a full blown cancer

I wish you could tier lock matches, once tier 4 and heavies appear the game normally becomes very static and boring.

I thinks its apart of okw's design. i constantly face blobbers. mostly being OKW

OKW lack good support weapons. so they mass infantry.

New factions were designed with so much diversity in their starting build. MVGame

so armor company and i hope you used demo charges? I am on my laptop so cant check replay, and if thats the map with tight paths in forest and everywhere, like couple demo charges and everything dies...
mg nests and 50 cals there is 50% chance they will be effective but honestly i usually use those at start and thats it later on they can get pretty much oneshoted from everything okw or ost throws at me so manpower+ammo down the drain. Scott is great but u gotta micro it.

blobbing thread literally every other day.

Because blobbing is a huge issue whether you admit it or not; It's made the game boring and rewards no brained play. Why not call COH2 RTB instead of RTS? Real time blobbing, since apparently there is no strategy involved. Spam volks with schreks, spam obers, get KT, gg.

blobbing is not the issue. people not knowing how to fight against blobs is the issue.

1- Double american. You are brave.
2- This map. YOU ARE REALLY BRAVE.
3- Scot requires micro but is incredibly effective. Get sherman first with HE and just crush them all. If they start to blob, 2 Sherman can do the job. Just retreat the first one after it receives some hits.
4- Don't get Zooks.

I feel like the tread title should more appropriately say "What's wrong with our game tactics?".

I'm tired of people blobbing these blobbing threads, why aren't there any mechanics in place on coh2.org to punish these thread blobbers?

Because that would be fucking stupid. :D

I have heard that it is in fact a sound strategy, a part of the natural learning curve of playing the game, and as such is preferable to spreading out your units.

Any mechanics implemented to nerf it would only hurt those with good micro.

Also, It doesn't make any logical sense that shooting into a group of people would yield any higher chance of hitting something.

^See, this is why people need to use emotes or /sarcasm, otherwise its not so obvious and some would be misled to actually believe that you are serious.

I am not in favor of removing blobbing completely, but there should be more incentive to be better. Blobbing almost achieves the exact affect of spreading out troops and using cover. You can use your blob to easily focus down certain units. The only downside is they are vulnerable to aoe attacks.
