So the British armored doctrine has a 1 CP ability costing 30 (50?) munitions that becomes completely overshadowed once you unlock the last tier, by its counterpart there, which is free and applies to all vehicles.
Am I missing something? Is the early access to the ability its only benefit?

Yeah I agree, with how coh3 is designed it makes no sense and the devs clearly ran out of ideas or dont understand the game they created.
This ability may would make sense if ressources and VP drain time would be like coh2. Aka a way bigger time window before tanks arrive and players coping with AT guns.
Atleast currently, the ability gives you no benefit since light vehicles stay viable up until late game. There is no need to short cut with an early withdraw and refit imo.

I think the idea is that you can push faster for the last tier, but realistically, it is much better to use the LVs until you tech and to THEN refund them...

I tested it yesterday and despite its name it also works on the AA crusader. So I suppose there is some strategy where you rush AA and then refund it to tech up... but on its face its not great.
