Hey guys.
I want to build my first PC and I was wondering if there is a willing expert amongst you who can give me advice on my planned system. My current system is 7 years old and I'm feeling the need to upgrade...

Any advice or feedback is very much appreciated :)

I m not an expert but I will comment on the RAM. 32 GB its way to much (for now) only for gaming.

Thank you for your reply :)

I know its a bit much but I also do scientific simulations as part of my PhD studies. I was thinking the extra RAM might come in handy at some point in the future...

Your Power Supply is higher than consumption, I have a similar PC and it needs 650 watts. You can save some money and buy a less affordable Power Supply, 700-750 watts will be enough. It's good that modern Power Supplies are more advanced. In 2012, I was a PC builder in a shop (yes, PCs were very popular then and I build more than 300 PCs per month) And one client assembled a PC with 1,000 watts of power supply. He did not start, due to insufficient power consumption.
