SNF5 Championship Title Fight Jan.26th

Fight fans, the final hours are upon us. We gather here under the hallowed dome of the Yoink Memorial Stadium for the ultimate showdown. Dignitaries from around the world come to bear witness. Warring armies lay down their instruments of destruction and set aside their grievances for this one night. Around the world all eyes are fixed upon that small stretch of canvas where hopes and dreams, fear and joy, love and anger, triumph and shame, nadir and zenith, the sublime struggles, all the dramas of human existence find their apotheosis! Ladies and gentlemen, the crucible is fired. All elements will be stripped away and only one, the Sunday Night Fights Season 5 Heavyweight Champion of the World will remain!





It's deja vu all over again as these two titans face off once more. BartonPL obliterated AndyisRIPPIN in four hard-fought games during SNF S05E09 to make it to the finals. OMGPOP secured his position by struggling back to overcome his nemesis, VonIvan in the five games of SNF S05E10. Each man has taken the long road to the finals, playing dozens of matches in the Quali Tourneys and Contender Bouts. Each has had his endurance pushed to the limits and both men are within spitting distance of the grand prize and eternal glory.

Both BartonPL and OMGPOP have had their matches broadcasted on SNF six times this season. But the only thing that matters now, is who is going to win Lucky Number Seven. They have faced each other already twice previously. In Round 5 of the Second Quali Tourney, OMGPOP sent BartonPL home 2-0. In Contender Bout #3, OMGPOP did away with BartonPL again, this time 3-1. Can OMGPOP do it a third time, to take home the SNF S5 Heavyweight Champion belt? Or will BartonPL, emboldened by his victory against AndyisRIPPIN, reverse the tides and win the match that matters most?


The puissant Pole, BartonPL, is an SNF stalwart and one of the heaviest hitters of COH2. He's in the best shape of his life after knocking foe after foe to the canvas, but beating POP is going to be the hardest fight of Barton's career.


OMGPOP found himself at the brink of defeat, down 2-0 last week, before surging back with three consecutive, dominating wins. POP left VonIvan's face looking like a pile of raw hamburger and now his knuckles are lined up to dish out one final thrashing.





Sharing the SNF broadcast booth with your hosts before the fists start to fly is none other than Relic Game Director, Quinn 'qduffy' Duffy! Quinn was part of the team behind the original Company of Heroes and was the lead designer for Company of Heroes 2. He is a World War II history buff, has been making video games for 17 years, and is the steady hand on the tiller of the good ship, COH2.
