A couple of small corrections:

-Ostruppen don't gain any "extra" accuracy with vet than normal infantry do, they get 40% at vet 2 like everyone else does.

-Trenches don't provide building cover, trench cover is unique.

I suppose I worded that wrong, but Ostruppen are still the best carriers for squad weapons because they have 6-men with fast and cheap reinforce, as well as low damage per base weapon (less DPS "lost" from army when weapons are picked up), and the cover bonus. All these factors make them the most efficient unit Ostheer has when using squad weapons.

I can't find a good counter for ML-20 in that strategy.

Railway arty + 222 works quite well.

For Ostheer, maybe, but if you have an OKW team mate giving him the weapons is probably for the best considering OKW units tend to get more accuracy from vet than normal units do. Also when recrewing weapons doing it with Ostruppen isn't as good as it used to be anymore since Ostruppen retain their 25% received accuracy when they recrew something.

If you want to recrew a weapon, do it with Sturms who are cheaper and faster to reinforce now and come with some nice received accuracy of .87 natively.

Your team weapons should never be directly taking damage from enemy soldiers, that's why you have ostruppen in front. You will take losses on your crews, but it will be from indirect fire, which is unaffected by received accuracy of models. This is where ostruppen with less reinforce cost and time are the better choice.

If you want to try to poke holes in the guide, ask me on steam. This section is for people to ask specific questions.

This build order always puts me over popcap as the OKW. I have realized that sometimes not rebuilding certain squads when I lose them, intentionally getting my crew weapons wiped (give them to the cheesetruppen) or skipping units (like the second pioneer squad or the IR halftrack) for the sake fast tech when I have most of the map is necessary for this build. I also think that the derp cannon that you get with the fortifications doctrine is situational (positionting and counter-ability based on units on feild and map orientation).
I like playing this on 3v3 because then you have ettlebruck station, where you can shut down all armor and infantry pretty easy and then get a fast vehicle to deal with the forced mortar spam. I have not tried this against the british, but I bet the mortar emplacement is going to be a fast and easy counter to the strat.
