You're somewhat right, the best thing about M5 is the range of the quad, really fearsome one, but that's why it's in full t3.
As for other things the armour doesnt change much because russians still have nothing non-doctrinal than zis and nades to kill 251 in t1-t2 and those have much better penetration than even 28 armour.
Germans on the other hand can kill M5 with 222 for example and it's quite easy to be done in fact, there are also pgs with shrecks, superior at guns and the thing that going M5 first instead of T-34 is really risky, and if you produce it after a tank there is no window for it.
And lastly the damage, hmm you know flammenwerfer has not only longer bursts and superior accurancy but also AoE, that multiplies damage somewhat I believe, if the weapon is weaker it should be cheaper, not show up earlier, but in that case the cost should be the same as it is.

I believe the thing with sdkfz 251 now is the same as with t-70, it's really good unit that can be universally used to cover long front line or kill infantry behind it even in late game but players don't use it because it's expensive and appeares late (the same drawbacks as t-70). In fact you can still use it with a success but it's not op now and most players forgot about it but there are some facts you have to remember:
1. It's tier 2,5 not 3 and at the same time russian HT is truly a tier 3 vehicle and it's used really often now, even when german tanks are all over the map, 251 still comes earlier and costs the same to upgrade but is rarely used.
2. You can and you really should have an unupgreaded halftrack on the field in tier 2 play so when the HQ upgrade is done you don't need to produce it, the investment is only the munitions you need not any fuel, and its really early.
3. That delay to flammenwerfer halftrack is something that can hurt people who play t1 + t2 into tigers and that is good! Those call in tactics should be punished in some ways.
Summing up the problem is not in the unit, the damage or the time when it can be upgunned but in players who upgrade the HQ only thinking of StuGs and P4s coming, forgeting about good old chap flamenhalftrack. Believe me I menaged to get 40 kills inside the window on that beast this patch

So primitive... Looks like there is no problem with amount of rng in game but the functions computer uses, that kind of function will never be even close to fair or real. With a straight line you can even penetrate a t-34 with mg-42 with 1,5% chance which is not so low considering it fires bursts.

Also, what do you think about making future articles much longer, for example twice as long? You would be able to put some interesting details into them, because now every single statement in this article contains so much history to talk about that it's more like lecturers note than actual history lecture. But apart from not giving enough attention to details it's great lots of people can actually learn something from gaming thanks to you

About advantages of no-turret build you haven't mentioned to most important one. The main idea was to put 75mm gun on Pz III and here is the problem, turret of this tank is too small for that, and even if they would make bigger turret (like in kv-2) it would probably broke after one or few shots because of the moment of force. But if you put gun on the frontal armour the force is spreaded through the whole vehicle and the problem doesn't exist. That (and the cost) is the reason for creating every single assault gun in history, each has bigger gun than it's tank equivalent.
