Thread: WBP Merged changelog (v1.0 to newest)15 Feb 2017, 10:32 AM I would just like to say that I appreciate all of the work that the community has put into this patch, and to Stormless/ A_E for hosting the King of the Hill weekly tournaments. I'd also like to give a shoutout to the moderators for keeping this thread on topic! and I'd also like to say that if Relic ends up not liking how this worked with the patching and ceases to update the game on a regular basis, it is my opinion that having an official coh2.org competitive mod would be a great way to keep the community alive, keep the game fresh, and keep people interested in coh2 for the next few years before coh3 comes out. u all In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Intense USF v OST on Caen15 Feb 2017, 10:15 AM Second game I played against this guy, the first one I lost hard in about 15 minutes. Another example of Ostruppen doing work (err, getting killed, but keeping in the fight). I'm not sure why my opponent surrendered but he had already lost 4 sherman tanks so maybe he had just had enough. Stupid me didn't realize where my cutoff was many times and it was quite frustrating but I ended up getting a Stug on the field and that saved me the game when combined with his habit of losing his tanks quickly. This one is surely worth a watch, maybe a cast just like the other upload I've put up recently. In: Replays
Thread: Great 1v1 OST v UKF15 Feb 2017, 08:12 AM Ostruppen doctrine v Infiltration commando. This was a great game. 45 minutes of pure carnage but the Ostruppen were the meatshield and loved being shot to pieces by the infiltration commando. Thread: Relic Winter Balance Preview v1.8 Update6 Feb 2017, 06:15 AM I just wish the final changes that Relic decides to make will overall, be beneficial to the game and will improve the game in various ways including a) balance b) player happiness with the game c) increase player count If there's a statistically significant increase in players when patches go live for a sustained period, even just two weeks, that would be great and help show Relic that people still care about their game. Some people are like "there are these other great WWII strategy games coming out" but CoH is such a unique strategy/tactical game that there isn't any single other direct competitor. Hopefully this balance change will lead to more balance changes in the future; we're going to be playing coh2 for at least another 3 years before the next coh is released (assuming DoW3 won't be bad and will make Relic money) and even if it takes them another 16 months to get the game in an objectively well balanced state it will be worth it. The people who were interested in it have had plenty of cheap chances to try it. The crowd did not stay because it's not their cup of tea. F2P will not cure this in any way. This is probably good for newer players; i'm not sure when either of you started playing coh2 competitively but it's impossible to beat someone of equal skill when spamming grens v rifles. This is why the USF mortar in tier 0 really hurts Ostheer because, instead of smoke grenades obscuring line of sight, you have 80mm mortar rounds killing your models.
