Does the Stg44 upgrade not shift things into the Volks favour? I thought it might have, may be mistaken however
Purely range dependent.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

In mid and short range. How many times you end up in mid to short range with your sniper? Ost sniper could solo cons with vet1, RoF boost and a tad of RNG on the misses of mosins. In: COH2 Gameplay |

That still means that 2 bursts/1 burst+dot are enough to wipe a unit and since it starts to shoot 1 second faster, TTK vs garrisons got improved. Consider ALL stats ![]() In: COH2 Balance |

No, after all the buffs it outright kills ![]() If you won't notice it coming for your garrisoned HMG/squad, you'll instantly lose it. In: COH2 Balance |

You're not supposed to be defensive for the whole game. You need to have decent fuel control until you get T2 and pump one of the lights to harass and push with. 222 is underpriced for current stats AF, so just use it in pairs to counter everything except AT guns and dedicated TD lights and 251 is getting a powerful buff too. Let hans play only with grenadiers and me play with whatever i want and he will still beat me You seem to forget that top players also play against other top players and best them, that includes Hans ![]() In: COH2 Gameplay |

Vet differences make both of them equally or more durable actually. Bear in mind that it doesn't matter how many rifles there are, but the final squad DPS. For example grens and volks have almost the same DPS despite having different number of men in squad, therefore volks are considerably superior for only 10 more mp, however they fall short with veterance and upgrades taken into consideration. There is similar difference here, Penals look better out of the gate, but once vetted and upgraded, its both, rifles and tommies having the lead. You're also not considering that both axis armies have bonus MP out of the gate and penals require a separate specialist and more expensive T1 building which comes after ost generalist T1. Against penal user, you'll always have numerical and suppression advantage. Volks might struggle, but kubels will rape and force sov to spend fuel on M3 or pick doctrine for guards(I'm waiting for the day when M-42 will be a valid option :foreveralone ![]() In: COH2 Balance |

Unless you play osttruppen into fast T2 vs brits, you don't really have any initiative in the first place. Until T2 is up its all about not losing your native fuel. You can be more aggressive to a point if you get early sniper only. Ost never was dictating(or even meant to) pace of early game unless it was OP AF(first month HMG42 into flame HT or march deployment grens). Vs sov, its really who plays better. Vs USF it was always a struggle, because USF can do only one single unit, which needs to be strong enough to overcome grens+support. Vs brits they do extremely well with osttruppen and underpriced 222. Plus, Hans seems to be doing just fine. Its not about losing unitiative, because there is only one MU where ost have it, but about not losing T2 tech race by not losing fuel early on. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Who knows. Have a price ![]() Regarding ost, well, they are designed to rely on supporting units. Grenspam was killed for a reason-faction with bradest access to support weapons and units can not have infantry that is potent enough to NOT rely on them. You can't buff grens, because we'll be back at cancerous grenspam meta instantly, you can't buff support weapons, because they are already #1 in the game. Just get to T2 asap, get 251/222 and use that. Ost early game isn't about aggression, but not losing your part of the map to me. Ost doesn't really dictate pace of the game early, but responds to it, for this reason I believe people don't find it that fun. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Yes. Its AI specialist that is good at all ranges, but doesn't excel any any particular one. Its DPS is comparable to a tad cheaper generalist no tech unit, rifles. Just like rifles, except rifles are much tougher to kill, better equipped and provide more support through upgrades, vet and doctrines. In: COH2 Balance |

If relic should remove double upgrades, and it would be fine... Which would also require a considerable buffs to pretty much all weapons. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. In: COH2 Balance |
