Thread: How to get enemies out of buildings as US?7 Jul 2014, 01:39 AM Assault eng equipped with flame thrower approaches from side with a troop attracting attention in front. Just 60 ammo upgrade only. Also effective against mg garrisoned building. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: potential IR HT tactics27 Jun 2014, 03:40 AM So I tried IR HT today. Unfortunately no replays. It is indeed a very useful HT in 2v2. Make sure it is deployed behind the contact point with the opponents. Basically IR HT serves as the forward artillery observer and guide for flank assault. Usually when opponents overrun the defended position or opponent successfully defends the territory, he or she will deploy the medic HT. Use IR HT to locate it and bombard it with light howitzer during the reinforcing period. Whenever one observes the anti infantry troop or AT troop, one can use HT to make observation for the flanking assault path and determining the optimal path for armor assault. This should also applied to 3v3 or 4v4. 1v1 IR HT is basically not quite useful in the sense that it is too expensive in 1v1 in both MP and fuel point perspective. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: In Before the Blitz: Airborne Company Strategy24 Jun 2014, 17:14 PM I used US airborne several times today. I think US airborne doctrine is a bit too strong or potentially op. The airborne forces is not being attacked right upon landing or before landing. The ground forces should be able to engage the airborne troop during the landing procedure. Wehrmacht is almost not in a good position to defend the airborne landing and crewing the mg or the AT gun. OKW at early stage rely heavily upon call-in infantry which is also a bad sign. Anyway, the game is still far from simulating the real tactical situation or it is merely an entertaining game nothing more than that. In: Guides
Thread: Official Sturmpioneer thread24 Jun 2014, 17:07 PM Maybe strum pio's assault rifle profile is not correct. To me, I see strum pio's range is long and medium and short though my infantry squad is in green cover. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Ask the Strategist!5 Feb 2014, 16:58 PM Hi, Strategists, Is there a reliable way to counter soviet counter attack tactics? It is quite bothersome to see kv-1 showing up all the time. Getting stug with AT gun is an option. However, stug rotation speed is too low and easy target for t-34 synergy with kv-1. German mines are too expensive. Any tips for mining position as mines are so deary to axis faction? However, this is not the real case during WWII. Is this for sake of simulation of the period of no-retreat order issued by OKW? B4 is kind of hard to destroy by anti infantry artillery barrage. Any good option for base or assault behind enemy line? Lets say we are talking about map of minsk pocket. Is 1 mg sufficient for defensive measure or 2 mg will be the best option all the time by assuming there is no bunker build? In: Strategy Desk
Thread: Ask the Strategist!17 Jan 2014, 13:48 PM Hi, Strategists, I have some questions. I have seen tons of replays. Why I cannot find one replay containing troop transportation by half track for quick deployment which is usually happening in motorized or panzer divisions? One can quickly deploy mg and grenedier even mortar behind lines to yield concentric attack. Was there a fundamental reason countering this idea? Is soviets using m5 and m3 with flamethrowers for mobile harassment a real tactics adopted during WWII? In: Strategy Desk
