Story about the il2 cannon of death.
The russians have retreated from the village,but they have called in air support to try and "slow down" the german assault.
and IL2 takes off from a nearby airfield..,fully loaded with 23mm's of death.
Its a nice clear day on Kholodny ferma. the russians are in retreat in their base drinking vodka.... a battalion of german infantry and tanks move in to take the center point...all of the sudden, Yuri,(a scout that was left behind to spot the advancing germans for the IL2) throws 3 red flares at the german troops as they advance.
Yuri is quickly cut down by G43 fire. but then...all of the sudden a vetern panzergrenadier,Kleinz, hears the familiar buzz of an IL2.
"AIRSTRIKE"!!
and
"AIR RAID"
are heard from the panicking troops.
you quickly press the retreat button on all your squads,but you know its inevitable whats about to happen.
Kleinz and his men stop what they are doing,drop all their upgraded weapons and sauerkraut, and immediately start running back to the safety of the base.
Some of the men try to run inside the church on the east side of the map...

"Oh look sasha.(female il2 pilot), a bunch of germans running east...that mustve been what comrade yuri spotted for us. see the flares?
"guns ready."
" alright,coming in hot.."

a Pak gun shield is riddled with 23mm bullet holes, poor friedrich runs away from the mutilated gun and crewmen. all dead except him. (He dies on the next pass of the IL2.)
"we have lost one of our anti tank guns." radios in kleinz simultaneously as it happens
A panzer gren squad is ripped apart in mid stride.
Their mp44's and shreks are shredded to piece and there are arms and legs and brains and helmet liner and blood. all over the field.
kleinz kept running,radio in hand..."they fought bravely for the reich! commandant!!! help us!"
he dies on the second pass. he had turned around and stopped running looking at the carnage behind him. and was ripped to pieces..he was Vet 3 and the last member of his distinguished squad, that fought so hard that day.
Remember those men that ran into the church?
well,they died on the 3rd pass.
The 23mm cannons ripped THROUGH the wooden church,as the Il2 saw them running in at the beginning of their attack and killed all of them.
even the ones hiding under wooden tables INSIDE the church.

First,i'd like to say that i am a predominately soviet player that is currently playing the germans.
Id like to share my Balance "Patch notes" if you will with you all.
First....Shock Troops
MP COST REDUCED TO 400
PPSH REMOVED BY DEFAULT
NO CP CHANGE
Shock troops will instead come out as 1.5-2.0 armor Infantry with SVT-40's,and no smoke grenades.essentially making them a tougher penal squad without a satchel....UNTIL
The soviet player uses a 60 MUNITIONS "Shock Package"upgrade that will buff their armor to 2.5,and give them their PPSH's,and Smoke Grenades.
Still ONE CP,and the fight with Pz Grens will be less ROFL stomp until they get their new shipment of PPSH's from comrade stalin...with the shocks easily winning if they are in cover and the AR wielding grens are not.
Second...the T-34 Ram.
REMOVE the RNG from the ram COMPLETELY.
IF you ram from the front and the gun is facing the front half of the tank,the gun will be destroyed along with the MG gunner. NO engine damage or immobilization.
If you ram the back(rear armor), and the gun is facing the back half of the tank, the tank will lose its gun, be IMMOBILIZED,and take alot of damage.
This discourages ramming the front of the tank,and encourages flanking it and ramming the sides.
Also,the T34 will have to enter a new,"Ramming SPEED" mode.
The T34 will increase its speed for 5 seconds,and a new button will appear..the current ram button...allowing their to be a bit of micro with ramming as well.
Of course the HotKeys for this RAMMING SPEED ability and RAM abiility will be the same.
If the T34 doesnt ram,it will have overheated engine for a MINUTE.
THis is to prevent the T34 from having a free blitzkrieg thats easily accessable.
THE Soviet Heavy Tanks and callins
IS2,ISU,KV2
BUFF their damage,and basically make the tank do good damage with or without penetrating armor.
These are HUGE guns,and often blew the turrets off of tanks and whatnot,so this would be represented,on a lower scale.
Basically make them artillery pieces that move.
ABsoulute hell to german tanks.
In TURN,nerf their AI capability to that of the BRUMMBAR.(aim for only 1-2 guys in a squad at a time)
THe KV8 is fine.
The ISU should have a cannon like i described above,but with a decent armor nerf and rotation speed nerf.
CONSCRIPTS
Give them a 2x SVT40 upgrade,or a squad marksmen upgrade to add flavor to the squad.
Increase cooldown for oorah and INCREASE the damage DRAMATICALLY the squad takes while OORAHING.
Guards
Replace the mosin nagants and default PTR's with SVT-40s.
Make the PTRS and DP both cost munitions to upgrade to,EXACTLY like the campaign.
Nerf armor to 1. Basically penals that can have upgrades.
BUFF THE DP LMG.
Mark vehcile to 60 munitions.
IL2 Rape run reduced to 180 Munitions,nerf...see below.
and t34-85s to 200 FU AND 700 MP.
for the Germans,
BUff the panzer IV to its original AI.
Buff the stug's AI.
BUFF THE OSTWINDS AI and AA to cover the ENTIRE map AND KILL the PLANE on the FIRST PASS against the 240 Munition Rape run that the soviets have. this may or may not be neccessary.
Nerf the panzershreks accuracy. make it like Vcohs.
Make the MINE DETECTION ability on pios 10 munitions.
Nerf the radius in which mines are detected in turn.
Nerf the Panther's armor slightly,but buff its Rate of fire. its neccessary to deal with super heavys the sovs have.
BUFF the tigers AI to that of the IS2.. sort of..
Buff the damage the cannon does against INF.
Stuka close air support to 180 muns as well.
TIGER ACE..fine as is with the buff to the soviet ram.

So i build a sniper to counter shock troops, good move, kite it behind main forces, move position after every shot, but then somehow the soviet mortar manages to predict where i move to and hit me dead centre on my head. Not just splash damage but dead centre.
A freak incident u may say, unlucky possibly but three times in one game?
Please tell me how i counter this?
