The more you try to make it look as if hmg42 in its current state is a blob-stopper the more i laugh at you,and more my suspicion grows abt ur ost playing credentials.Blob of anything works very well against a mg42 -u would know that if u actually used it more.
And i don't have mech assault.I would say its a LTP issue as well from ur end,learn to play ost.

Instead of blobbing LMG greens across red cover towards paras, find an area of the map you want to hold, get a bunch of greens and MGs, (later paks) Have then support and spot for each other. Unless they use smoke, the MG42 is very much a counter to blobs if you spot for it. I played plenty of Ostheer during the ol 1 CP shock spam, and horrid con spam.i learned to support and love the mg42 for what it is. You simply can't chsrge an MG42 that's in proper cover when it's supportby LMG Grens, panzer grens, mines, etcIf thats happening to you I'd LOVE TO SEE VIDEO PROOF.

When people get their mg42s owned is leaving them by themselves to cover a part of the map KNOWING FULL WELL usf has light vehicles and smoke. SUPPORT. YOUR. UNITS. If you have a problem with this change factions.

And what's funny is that you complain about how useless mg42 is.. Lol try having your 50 cal one shottedby rifle grenades from a GREN BLOB from the front.

2 grens with lmg will beat 1919 paras unless the grens are caught out of position/ cover
Again, don't expect 1 GREN SQUAD with an Lmg to stand up to paras on their own. That makes no sense. If paras had some stupidly high reinforcement Cost(like 40) how would USF have manpower at all? The reason obers are OP is not Their DPS or anything Imoo, but the fact that they are relatively cheap to field since their LMG IS FREE and OKW IS NEVER SHORT OF MANPOWER

I know ost has glaring issues against USF but this isn't really one of them,and blobbing is a problem that all factions struggle with not just ost.

support your LMG Grens with a HMG. I doubt a U.S. player has the resources and manpower to buy tons of m1919s,, have a bunch of rifles for smoke to counter your MG,BUY smoke,, buy multiple paras, BLOB, have a light vehicle,and still win unless you just have bad luck with your positioning, or maybe bad skill with your positioning.


also, firing on the move with lmg is exaggeration since like someone said its Wayyyy less accurate when firing that way.

Are you seriously complaining about a free riflemen squad with a smg and a bar?

If im doing any "complaining" in my post then i guess im complaining about the Thompson SMG on the LT,which is the most notable part of the squad,always being taken away most of the time since units always try to kill the LT himself before the other models in the squad. if i wanted i could skip the LT, go capt, and get a bar on one of my rifle squads at about the time he's out anyway.. big deal.. the bar itself or its timing is nothing special,

This squads combat effectiveness over time is not nearly as good against OKW as it is against OST. The only GREAT thing about LT is his first engagement.

Against OKW once infil nades,lucky shrek shotts,obers,flak hts, you name it start coming out....he's nothing special....hes an MP drain if anything.

Against OST,hes useful the whole game, i never denied that


Im not complaining at all really. Im just Discussing the topic which the is the LT's cost effectiveness...which includes his combat usefulness over time thanks to his reinforcement costs in a MP starved faction.
