i personally find single player campaign rts is boring as hell. the ai is always totally retarded. don't get me wrong, there can be single player, but, not at the cost of the multiplayer/skirmish. co-op against hordes of soviet zergs as germany with tiger aces, would be fun, though.
It's not really at the cost of anything though, that's what I'm trying to say.

Because I see plenty of people being ignorant and thinking that this somehow means that multiplayer issues will never be fixed.
EDIT:
If it wasn't what you expected then what did you expect it to be? New factions? 2 Months ago an expansion with new factions was released. War Spoils fixes? They themselves said that wasn't happening + why the hell would you go to Gamescom just to talk about War Spoils? Balance patch? Again, not something you go to Gamescom with. The promo image implied it was going to be a campaign.
+ Like I explained in the OP it's not like this is the only thing they're announcing. |
Like, honestly, what about this is bad? All it will bring is new features and new content (maps, commanders, maybe even units!) FYI they have seperate teams working on seperate things. There is one team that works on balancing for example. This campaign being developed doesn't mean they're not also working on War spoils, etc.
Besides, new things are going to be announced friday, this isn't the only big thing they're going to show at Gamescom.
Just because you like playing multiplayer doesn't mean everybody else does.
|
All I would like to see is optimisation, since the release of WFA game has been running much worse.
Definitely I won't buy this utter shit.
They have seperate teams working on seperate things. Just because they're making a campaign doesn't also mean they don't have a team working on optimization. |
Why do only 29% of the people played the first campaign mission??
Why do only 11% of people finished the campaign??
http://steamcommunity.com/stats/COH2/achievements/
That stuff shows me that many people wasted their money on a game that they don't want to play, since you either have to play campaign/multi/compstomp and every thing will enchance your rank in the game or that relic gave away lots of free copies...
What you also want to consider is that when you are an active coh2 player you follow the game and you want your friends to join you in that expirience for that reason I would suggest that the multiplayer community is the community who is willing and will pay for a dlc.
Relics best intressed should be to get the game balanced. No I'm not crying but its kind of sucks when you want to get into a game as axsis when you have 10%/90% ratio or like sometimes 0%/100% like I did before. This also tells you that the game is only enjoyable from one perspective...
The thing with the hotkeys was a example what i personally want is:
fix the custom game servers
get a pershing out there
make tanks more squishy (vcoh)
custom keybindings
mod support (lets see)
new commanders for us/okw
but that is another thing
Again, just because they're developing a campaign doesn't mean they also have a team working on multiplayer. An entire studio doesn't just work on 1 thing. |
Not really pleased to hear this...I only hope that the cash they earn from this can be used to improve multiplayer.
Don't you think they have multiple teams working on multiple things? |
"All New Standalone Single-Player Expansion Reliving the Infamous Battle of the Bulge", why is the Battle of the Bulge Infamous? US wins at the end right?
It was one of the last large offensives that was launched by the German Forces, it saw very heavy fighting, etc. |
I think the point is that we're glad that you guys are working on single player stuff, that's great for a slice of people that plays your game.
But the fact is that a game like CoH Survive on Multiplayer and so far is really, really hard to love this game.
War Spoils are an issue, balance is an issue (i know it's not easy to balance a game like that, but, still you could just release smaller tweak patches even once a day if you wanted ! You did this for a period with DoW 2 Retribution), bugs are an issue.
So i think that we're just a bit disappointed that it was focused only on SP, but again, we still have Friday.
War spoils solutions are being worked on, it just wasn't going to be talked about at gamescom. Why does nobody understand this?
The reason balance updates aren't released every day is because it would make replays useless. Everytime an update is put out you can't watch replays from the previous version. |
If the content has good production value, I don't mind the singleplayer and multiplayer aspects being developed separately. That being said, if one were to buy both factions and the new SP campaign, the price shouldn't exceed $45.
Anything above that wouldn't be in line with an expansion pack model. I am disappointed that nothing was shown with the announcement, it always seems like Relic is in a hurry to push news out, and when they do, there's a serious lack of clarity and communication. They need to slow it down and be more methodical in their approach.
A trailer or at least gameplay was supposed to be shown, but Twitch was having technical problems, so now they're gonna put out a trailer/gameplay video in a bit on the COH youtube channel. |
They say it has unit preservation and stuff, something that the vCoH campaign had, so that's one cool thing that returned. |
