If they go for t1 first then they need all the help they can get to maintain map control, if they go for t2 first then having to pay 50+ fuel to backtech to a tier structure with units that are now largely useless isn't a good deal either. Off topic: Having a select group of community members take over control of official patching is a bad idea, it's too prone to groupthink, bickering, and people trying to impose their personal ideas on a large group of people. That sort of thing is fine for an optional mod, but if it's official it really needs developer oversight to provide an unbiased perspective. What they really need is a small team of experienced devs (not the clowns they have now) who have been involved with the game for a while, working in conjunction with community members such as modders, top players etc. Maybe it could be financially viable to continue low-key but steady support, letting the community do much of the heavy lifting in terms of maps, gameplay/balance/bug-fix suggestions, and occasionally releasing a new DLC commander to keep things fresh, but then I don't work at Relic so I have no idea if that would work. DOW2 Elite Mod is an excellent example of a select few making impact and beneficial changes to the game. ELITE mod should honestly be the base game (it isn't, because Relic stopped balancing their game). If relic won't balance their game - let people who love CoH2 and wanna see it succeed do it for free. Cooperation = everyone wins. In: COH2 Balance

I agree that you normally should not make it, but in long-games the advantages of better vision will eventually build up an advantage. The thing is, OKW has very few ways to effectively bleed opponent manpower in the end-game. The rocket halftrack is probably the best way to deplete enemy manpower and given the high cooldown, the IR halftrack can help you make those rockets count. A rare but do-able combo. Problem is it's expensive and you'll be relying on infantry and raketens to hold the line without tank support - definitely not ideal for OKW. In: COH2 Balance

It's always, 100%, every time better to have actual fighting units to scout - and spending a full unit's cost on a non-combat unit is almost a sure-fire way to lose in closely fought 1v1 matches. Jump back to quoted post21 Aug 2016, 08:50 AMshake4parkinson Not sure about this one, Fallschirms are reaaaaaaaaaally squishy and need like 4-5 vets to become somewhat of a threat in longer combat, their global spawn is quite strong and 1v1 they can beat almost anyone but if you can't get to your opponent quickly they're doomed. They seem just as durable as any other infantry squad. They are rather lethal, which makes them an effective squad in my book. Like I said, their high cost usually means you're wide open in the anti-tank department (and the indirect fire department too). But like any infantry squad, they are prone to dying to a lot of shit (light vechs, mines, MGs, whatever...). Honestly, I do agree they could use a slight buff by reducing their costs to 350 MP at least. What makes Jaeger Light Infantry so good is their lower cost, utility of abilities, and their lethality (which, quite frankly, is just as good as Falls at long range due to sniper). In: COH2 Balance
