Thread: OKW on Semoisky17 Aug 2014, 21:07 PM In 1v1, no. Allies completely dominate semoisky. Unless you can hold a reasonable amount of territory (very hard on this map since it's so hard to hold any points on the sides as Germans) it's going to be a real struggle. Allied units tend to perform much better at mid and close ranges than German units. And on a map like Semoisky, where buildings and true sight lead to close fighting, allies have a good advantage with their basic infantry and light vehicles. Plus, German units tend to be worse alone (since lower member squads mean more chance RNG screws it over which leads to retreat faster), making it even harder to harass more distant territories. Thread: Rear Echelon Squads9 Aug 2014, 02:28 AM I think you're missing the point about the "rear" in the rear echelon squad. If you want to spam them, you basically must go Airborne for paratroopers. While they have pathetic base damage, buffing them to any meaning state would overlap them with riflemen (America is designed around riflemen in CoH2, not an RE army). In: COH2 Balance
Thread: USF is not fun5 Aug 2014, 18:52 PM USF Late game is pretty Iffy - I just end up having to mass the hell out of tanks (Shermans, M8s, Jacksons) and rely on micro to keep them alive since they all have pretty low HP against AT. On top of this, I need good support with the mass tanks to push forward against heavy units. Their late game isn't easy to pull off like just building a tiger and shooting stuff, but definitely possible. In: COH2 Balance

Getting m3s at 2 minutes and being able to load flamers in them like a bunch of clowns is ridiculous. It's a problem for both Ost and OKW, since both can only get counters at maybe 5-6 mins minimum. The strategy also points out the flaws of soviet "teching". You can get an ISU out at 20 mins and 2nd at 24-25 mins easily, if you have at least 1 fuel point. It's often better to just rely on guards + T1 + T2 and forget about T3/T4. Agree with this. M3 Scout Cars and American T1 AA Half Track skew the balance heavily. In: COH2 Balance

Get vet 1, use detect ability and shoot the sniper with something else. Maybe if you're lucky, but an M3 will easily handle a Kuebel (which is a given if he went snipers). This is a big manpower drain. Also you are forced into a doctrine so this is not a viable counter. Let me know when you face a decent opponent using this strat on a map like lagreskaya. Tell me how u go with it. At Vet 1, Pumas get Aimed shot, which easily kills snipers since it never misses. 1 Flak halftrack is a bit precarious against guards, but 2 would do quite well (especially since this strategy relies on call ins and not T3/T4). Like I said, no real direct counter to this play, but you got some good alternative strategies to carry you to late game for tanks. As rank 1 OKW, I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about. Thread: Finally a reason for Relic to Nerf that BS4 Aug 2014, 00:39 AM Honestly, the strategy would probably fail vs Ostheer and really only works against OKW due to a lack of hard counters (no counter sniper or 222). While it is a very strong strategy (the sniper is an extremely strong unit vs OKW), it does sort of depend on the map and leaves you vulnerable to early vehicle play. While this is hard for OKW, I'm under the impression multiple Flak Haltracks and/or Pumas can easily handle snipers + guards. Forgoing mechanized play, it's also possible to just spam Panzerfusiliers. Their 6 member squads take a long time for Soviet snipers to drive back and their relatively good long range accuracy makes them ideal for engaging guards and snipers. Point is: Snipers are fine. Don't touch them. In: COH2 Balance
