It's actually possible to be lucky/unlucky to such an extent with certain combos in this game that it influences your understanding of it. It's statistically possible to get the Picture skewed when you think of the large number of possible outcomes in some of this nice havoc the game produces. But I guess you have a point in saying that the Puma is a smaller target than the PzIV for example? And in that way is easier to miss? In: COH2 Balance

It's kind of an exploit of the infantry AI, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it! I'm sorry, but I definately think something has changed from COH1. It's not directly comparable IMO because it seems to me that the simple changing of facing doesn't really work anymore. It used to be fairly easy to squish units just by messing around with the tanks' facing once you were in the blop. But it's like now the infantry just crawl under the tank unharmed? I don't know about the high speed method. I rarely get the opportunity. In: COH2 Gameplay

If you get 1 RE squad into cover before the kuble starts firing (or at least as close as possible), it can force the kuble off or even kill it. A second RE squad will just secure the kill. 1 and even 2 RE squads is pretty cost effective to negate a kuble.... I guess you didn't read mine either because I wrote the same thing... Anyway, the RE solution is just for US. But I have found that it works the same for the SU with the engies. Actually, even if you don't get in cover like buildings, you can make it by kiting the kubel, staying behind it. It does require catching it off guard not having set up or approaching outside of the cone. Or else'T' key is recommended. Disclaimer: I mostly play team games... In: Strategy Desk
Thread: soviet vs okw matchup 24 Jan 2015, 22:13 PM Jump back to quoted post21 Jan 2015, 01:38 AMJaigen Armour front or rear means nothing when it comes to the hp of an unit. the shot either penetrates or not and then it does damage. the puma has 400 hp and needs 3 shots to be taken out by the t-34 that does 160 damage. the puma itself does 120 damage and needs to fire at the t-34 6 times as the puma's gun does 120 damage and the t-34 has 640 hp. But chance of penetration is still bigger against the rear of tanks and vehicles? Or has this been reworked totally? Or why do we then have floating text saying 'rear armour hit' if it makes no difference? In: COH2 Balance

You don't bounce T-34 shots on a puma, but you can miss. Maybe that's what you experienced? In that case the T34 misse an awfull lot. It happened more than once or twice, which is why I started wondering if it is with the Puma armour. Did noone else experienc this? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: soviet vs okw matchup 21 Jan 2015, 00:35 AM What really irks me is when I fire at a puma at it's REAR and it fires at the front armour of my T34. T34 still loses clearly. The Puma has a large caliber (50mm?) AFAIR, but still: I'm shoting at it's rear. Isn't it off scale to a tank vs armoured car battle that the armoured car has so much rear armour it can outlast a tank? In: COH2 Balance

Thread: What to do against an initial kubel-push?20 Jan 2015, 06:41 AM Sorry, but I have to call any suggestion void if it involves using more than one unit - let alone upgraded units - to counter one out-of-the-door unit. Anyone can come up with a solution if it's just a matter of massing a superior number of counter units that can flank the enemy unit. That's not the problem to be solved with kübelwagens. The only real suggestion I see above is to put an infantry in a building, and this is preferable. But there are not buidings avaliable on all maps. So a good suggestion for other maps WITH ONE UNIT PER KUBEL is needed. Remember that sometimes the best advice may be to avoid the fight all together ad go do something else... In: Strategy Desk
