You know what'd be great? If instead of raising the fuel cost on everything OKW does if they just brought back old OKW and made small adjustments? The reason OKW was so unpopular before is because people didn't get how they worked. Mechanized had resource conversion because in order to pay for light vehicles you needed it. BHQ was all about supporting mass elite infantry and using jagdpanzer, volks and raketen as AT. Flak command was about giving you game finishing heavy tanks to complement mechanized, or obersoldaten/luchs for a mid game shock unit to complement BHQ.
But that didn't fit into the 4 infantry + light tank rush + medium tank spam metagame, so they loss the sturmtiger for PzIV and then we got the big OKW rework in October and now this shit. Now we get 4 volks + luchs + panzer IV metagame and all is well!

the tricky part of OKW is in the early game.
try the following: BO: kübel 3x volx raketen
let the kübel cap as most as he can, let the volx cap, occupy 1 crucial house with volx. US has no early anti building. avoid engagements till you have all 3 volx. if you have to fight, alwys make sure you have 1 more unit than him in the fight. then you make a little combat group of the kübel, 2 volx and the sturm. try to find a lonely rifle, wait till all of your stuff is in position. then you attack him with all stuff at once. push him out of cover with kübel, focus fire with volx (just click), close combat with pios (send them close).
get t3 for a luchs, fight houses with nades, but only after you get 1 shrek at least. lay mines at crossroads. |
give them "wire and sandbag building time reduced for engineers. Infantry sections can now lay wire (and mines) engineers can now lay sandbags, too"
would be more emplacement like and fit more the style of the doctrine without being lame |
the scale, pace,degree of detail, sound and optics are perfect. not much to do here. true sight must ve been ultra hard to implement and is an insane cool feature.
