Thread: Game keeps defaulting to 66% Gameplay Resolution2 Sep 2013, 14:44 PM After the last little minipatch, my game keeps defaulting to 66% resolution pretty much every time I start it up. My game runs just fine when I set it to 100%, but prior to the patch I used to get a warning about 'your PC blows, and you're trying to run the game better than we think you should' (or some other condescending statement). Is this dropping back to 66% resolution thing now some type of auto-compensate thing? And if so, how do I turn it off as usually I forget to manually change it and go into a game with horrible GFX. Thread: No victory screen or XP gain despite win29 Aug 2013, 08:04 AM Last night I was 2v2ing with a mate and one of our games just 'ended'. Not a VP win or annihilation, just went direct to match overview - no victory screen or xp gain. However my mate in the same 2v2 game said he got the victory screen and XP gain progress. Any ideas why that should happen? In: Lobby
Thread: Struggle with 3v3 Soviet builds13 Aug 2013, 08:10 AM We tried having about 5 or 6 ZiS in one game last night, but they just got swarmed by, IIRC, 9 PiV's at one point. Eeek. Again, I'm not a great player, but it seems that you need at least three ZiS per PiV. Hell, at one point an injured PiV leisurely drove side on to one of my ZiS's and took zero damage. Even with engine damage it looks like it's too stupidly easy for a few PiV's to flank around the back of a collection of staggered ZiS's. I tried buttoning, which helped a little bit, but I'm not entirely sure how the mechanic of that works. Does it have a set period of engagement, or does it break as soon as the buttoning squad moves? Thread: Struggle with 3v3 Soviet builds12 Aug 2013, 17:41 PM Two of my friends and myself play a lot of 3v3 as Soviets. Mostly we follow the runaroundlikeaheadlesschickengetroflstopmedanddie strat. None of us are what one would call good players, but we aren't totally mouthbreathers either. At the moment we kind of react to the Osteer, rather than dictate play. Mostly we lack a coherent vision and overall plan. We have moments where in the early game we dominate and then as soon as a PiV rolls out around 10 mins in, we get rolled. My feeling is that if you try to cut off Osteer from fuel, you stretch forces too thin which delays AT teching. If you hold back and consolidate, that allows even more PiV's to roll over you. Has anyone got any solid early builds as Soviet for 3v3 where it doesn't all fall apart after 10 mins? Is it realistic for one player to focus exclusively on ZiS guns/teching to SU-85 from the get go? Any help much appreciated (also it'll mean I'll stop raging over TS in my team mates ears ) In: Red Army Strategies

From what I can see the green cover stuff IRT flamers hasn't carried over (but I'm sure someone far more knowledgeable than me will know for sure). There's just got to be something going on as I've just watched a replay of my last game and have seen a Gren squad (non-vetted, no upgrades, but got V1 during the battle) take on and kill two conscript squads, plus an engineer. All without losing a man, and while being constantly on the move up close. Equal cover. The only time I've had any sort of joy has been with stationary Cons in green cover with injured Grens charging across no cover areas. But as soon as they get in close = mass die off of Cons. Ideally I suppose one would use a Maxim to suppress Grens, but unless I'm using it incorrectly (which I probably am), it seems to take about three bursts to suppress any enemies, by which time they have charged behind it FTW. Thread: Problems with conscripts against pios and grens6 Aug 2013, 15:13 PM In COH I was familiar with the way to fight with Volks/Rifles etc. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use conscripts effectively. It seems that no matter if they face off against Pio's or Grens, irrespective of distance or cover (or even if they enemy is in negative cover), they just simply get chewed up and spat out. The only time I ever see to feel like it's even an even match is when it's three Conscript squads against one Pio squad. Just the other day one Pio flamer squad ate two full health conscript squads like they weren't even there. Couple that with almost instant Osteer nades and glacial throwing times on Molotovs and I'm having a very hard time of it early doors. Discounting my piss poor micro, what are the rules of engagement for successfully taking on Pio's and Grens with Conscripts? In: Red Army Strategies
Thread: No 'Victory' screen, just straight to overview page1 Aug 2013, 16:06 PM After umming and aahing about buying COH2, I finally took the plunge after missing the original too much.. Enjoying it so far, but I've got a question some of you more experienced players may be able to answer. In a few games now, the game has just ended with 'so and so killed' (usually after some big conflict or gamechanging moment) and it's gone straight to the overview screen, not the Victory/Defeat screen. And from there, directly into the lobby. No XP has been awarded. Is this a bug or (and I hate to make my first post an OMFGHackern00bseverywhere type post) people just killing their game to spite me? If it's the latter, then that sucks, but not much one can do about it, but if it is a bug I'd like to know (if at the very least for my own sanity). Aside from that, I'm enjoying the game muchly.
