Say what you want about Quentin, but the dude has got the point.
All players that made it through to the final qualification round, went through several stages of hell. The qualification games become pointless after the third round because the competition is not about skill, tactics and strategy at that point but about pure physical attrition.
The skill differences between invited players and the top qualification players is not that different. Yet half of them never went through attrition battles. Who knows, maybe Jesulin or Aimstrong would have succumbed to fatigue like other top players did.
I applaud Cruzz who rejected the invite and qualified to the finals fair and square. I hope he wins OCF.
The invitational format of the tournament (which happens to be open for everyone) simply does not do justice to the amount of closely skilled talent we are trying to promote.
The problem for me is inconsistency. If the ban was for double accouts, VonIvan and some others also qualify. If its for cheating, Barton and DevM received a temporary ban in coh1 for exploits (defensive artillery on barbed wire I believe) which isn't technically cheating but did get them a short ban from GR.org. If CoH1 does not count, would Biosparks be allowed to participate?
I cheated on my gf and got caught. I should have been banned from OCF as well #MVGame
How many tournaments does he need to rekt before we realize he is making idiots out of all of us? Ban da fucker as an example and let's move on. Ciez is next. #MVGame
I would somewhat agree with the initial poster. It's all about audience. For daily streams, horsing around, trolling and dissing your color guy is fun and entertaining for smaller audiences that regularly watches streams. When you reach the level of casting a major tournament and get featured on the front page of twitch, the level of competitive detail is much more desired.
Ami's style of casting is fun but there was too much off-topic fluff and interruption of a very knowledgeable color guy. After all we are watching a big tournament for the competitive reasons, so please do those quality players justice and put them over for the plays and the skill they portray on the battlefield.
For the big tournaments like OCF, I would suggest that Ami does play-by-play while a COH2 pro performs camera work and color. This setup would decrease the number of important events being missed.
